The point is the previous BBC presumption that just because Bonnie Tyler, Pete Waterman, Blue or whoever, were once capable of producing hits, does not mean SHIT ALL when it comes to winning. It's astonishing how long it took them to realise this. They just seemed to get hung up on the fact Andrew Lloyd Webber scored us our only recent success. I'm ignoring Katrina and the Waves as we're a generation on from that win.
 
And I bet Katrina would have won the Great British Song Contest with that song even if they were complete unknowns:
 
Although looking at the vote tally, it would have been close.

- Swedish Idol 2004 (first season), saved by wildcard, reached #4
- Melodifestivalen 2011, My Heart Is Refusing Me, reached Second Chance (hideous clothes...)
- Melodifestivalen 2012, Euphoria

And to shit on your pie even further, VoR (love you longtime), to say Loreen had "a couple of big hits" prior to Melodifestivalen is an out and out lie :D.
 
Bonnie Tyler, Blue, DJ Bobo etc HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF BIG HITS PRIOR. Loreen was pretty much new meat.
 
BBC red button at 7.25pm. It will also be streamed on eurovision.tv and on iPlayer by 8 o'clock.
 
Have we had confirmation that we'll actually HEAR the song this evening? Obviously it's looking like it will be the Anders Hansson song, but with it only being mastered yesterday, you'd assume it'll just be introducing Molly as the artist?
 
I think the live performance from last night is what we will be hearing. Presumably the studio version will follow in the next few days or however long.

Is it? MHIRM was most definitely a big hit in Sweden and Sober did well as a followup considering most MF artists have their subsequent material totally ignored. I remember being genuinely surprised she came back the following year, obviously before realising she had a career-making song in her hands.

Obviously she wasn't known outside Sweden in the way Blue/Bonnie/Engelbert were, but I thought we were talking domestically.

I think that's pretty good. You could totally hear that on the radio across Europe.
 
It's no winner is it? It's the kind of song Hungary send and don't qualify.

It's decent enough for a UK entry mind.
 
She's a bit croaky as well. HATE the backing singers.

Ok. Well that's different. The chorus is very good and it does sound good live. But it's hard to tell without the proper backing track. By far out best entry in the last 10 years though!!
 
I think it sounds GREAT. Probably the best song so far.
 
It sounds like such a step up from the last couple of years, I must admit.
 
It's actually really fucking catchy, which is what we need. I can hum it 5 minutes after hearing it, which is the key here.
 
It sounds like it has a MASSIVE production, with strings etc.
 
I like it! The 'power to the people' bit was a bit cringe, but the chorus was great. I'm still humming it which is a very good sign.

Strong whiffs of L'enfer et moi. Hopefully not results-wise.
 
OK I like it better on second listen. Once again I set my hopes too high. :D

It's decent, but I could so easily see it being overlooked. But the sound *was* ropey and it could potentially be much more of a 'moment' with full production.

She was well croaky on the verses though.
