It's that time of year to start preparing to ignore the shite that streaming has opened up the way to be in the Christmas charts.

Some good news, is that LadBaby is OUT.

Hold onto to your cunts for Ed Sheeran to pull out some insipid shite.

Didn’t we start off last years conversation saying that ladbaby was out and then he came back again?

Let’s not tempt fate

Speaking of which HOW has he not been exposed yet for Hannah Ingram-Moore levels of charity corruption?

I’ve got a feeling it might be another Amazon or Spotify exclusive this year - they’re already pushing them heavily. Remember when Ellie Goulding did it that one year even though most of the country hadn’t even heard the song? How does an Amazon-only song get to #1 anyway when it’s only the 3rd most popular streaming platform?

Keep an eye on Jorja Smith - I love her, but she’s done an absolutely dreadful cover of East 17 and it’s already charting higher than a lot of the classics on the main chart.

Didn't she manage it in the much softer week after Christmas?
And I seem to recall she managed it because amazon offered it pretty much regardless what you requested.

I think it was the first or second song on their "Christmas" playlist or somesuch.

He also got away with groping some lassie while he was drunk. A reckoning is due.

We went to a New Year's Eve party where the host had a generic Amazon Christmas playlist on. River was played - by default - around every eighth (or thereabouts) song.

And that's FINE to cheat your way up the chart, foisting a song on people who haven't chosen it.

But GOD FORBID you have fans who are willing to PAY for more than three physical formats!

Meanwhile Sam Ryder also has an Amazon Christmas song and it’s #26 in the mid-week after debuting at #88 last week :eyes:

Yes it’s an Amazon exclusive. Last year he did a cover of Jingle Bells but somehow he’s got another one and this time it’s an original song.

Anne-Marie has an original song too. The rest are covers.

I didn't realise until just now that LadBaby has defiled the Christmas number one list FOUR times. What is it with Britain rewarding grifting Tory cunts every chance we get?

It’s ACR. Amazon songs are on SCR, millions of households have Alexa, and they want their songs to get streamed a lot so they auto-play them all the time.

Ellie’s song wasn’t the most played but Mariah/Wham etc were on ACR.

Can we revive Cunt of the Month/Year/Decade/ALL OF HISTORY just so LadBaby can win all categories?
What, the man who made himself a millionaire by making records "for charity"? Absolutely.

Do work Christmas nights out generally start in NOVEMBER? That is so early. I see a Christmas compilation album is number one on iTunes. I don’t generally partake in anything until at least the beginning of December.

Yeah sure why not? To be fair it's probably mostly shops, with everyone else joining in, in the next couple of weeks.

Mr Ag's birthday today, so I'm officially allowed to play them in our home.

I've dabbled with a bit of Cher but generally still too soon.

Can they shift One More Sleep up the playlists this year please (hell do Leona and us a favour and double it up with the Cahill remix)?

I’m a big fan of Christmas songs and I might dabble a bit in November, but seeing Mariah and Wham already heading to top ten is a bit obscene for me. I mean how can people be listening to them THAT much, especially considering they are on ACR or whatever it’s called (reduced scoring on the charts due to being catalogue songs)

I guess a lot of it is background music in places that are licenced, such as bars, restaurants and shops.

I LOVE Christmas songs and didn’t think of them getting played in shops, bars and restaurants so early. To me I always wait until December though, as I will be sick fed up of them and the best ones are always the OLD CLASSICS.

So people are heading out on work Christmas nights out already too?
