The MASSIVE downside to 2014 was that fuckawful giant stage. It made so many of the performances look empty - I remember Armenia, Israel and Poland in particular looking swamped by it.

I DO consider it a classic :disco: Albania and Hungary from 2018 are in my top ten of all time. And Fuego basically set the tone for every song over the next couple of years; without Fuego I may never have She Got Me.

2024. Dismal year which felt like it pushed the contest backwards.

I liked the story of Ireland last year. I really did not like the song.

It remains infinitely better than last year, but with the same issue that there isn't a particular winner among them. On the one hand, that means it's more of an open contest but on the other it means another ultimately forgettable winner. Last year almost killed my interest in the contest...

I don't feel like Austria is a bit too gimmicky to be a jury winner. I haven't been that confident since I stated that the juries in 2024 would never be taken in by an all-gimmick, zero-substance shithouse like Switzerland.

Can we just let the UK or Germany have it for effort and because we know we'll get a belting show the following year? I really can't stand another month or so of the fan community gaslighting itself into believing Israel, Ukraine, France and Italy are better than they are.
