I could see that happening. Especially because Belgium (Flanders) so very often starts as a (fan) favourite and then totally flops.

Yeah I do get that. I got there when I thought about it a little longer. There won't be a need to do that for a song with a Dutch word. I was kind of confused because we have that so often that English lyrics in songs sounds like certain other words in Dutch and we usually think that's funny...

But was it an Italian swearword or did it sound like a swearword in English? Like students in the Netherlands think it's hilarious when they need to learn cut - cut - cut which sounds like Dutch word for cunt. I wonder where this will end if you are going to do this. Or is it only a problem now...

It’s alright. I’m far from confident this will even qualify. It’s much better than that latest Joost single (dodged a bullet there if that was the entry) but nowhere near as strong as Europapa was.

After all the crap I’ve had last year I’m annoyed at myself that things like this still highly infuriate me. Or perhaps it’s a good sign.

Claude did say the song will be bilingual but he didn't want to say which two. All his songs are Dutch/French so I think and hope that will be the case.

His disqualification might have given it a bit of a push as well, but I do think it could have been bigger had his performance been shown in the final. Still the most streamed song on Spotify and close to overtake La noia.
