He's #8 on the first-look mids but that's affected by a lot of missing streaming figures

I imagine it will once we see today's figures - the difference in streaming before and after the contest was massive last yearThe OCC are going with this angle, which is quite the take
And Sam's success is also going to pay off on the UK's Official Charts. In our mid-week First Look Update, SPACE MAN is tracking to rocket into the UK Top 10, currently at Number 8. It would be both Sam's first Top 10 in the UK, and the first UK Eurovision entry to enter the Top 10 since Scooch's Flying The Flag (For You) in 2007.
What's even more exciting is that today's mid-week chart position doesn't take into account any streaming numbers SPACE MAN may have gained since Eurovision - so expect the song to rise further, into the Top 5 and maybe even challenging for Number 1 later this week!
Streaming is going to have to explode on Spotify for him to hit #1 (he had 180k against 551k for the #1 yesterday), and there's the two day deficit to consider.
Zitti e buoni hit 235k the day after winning last year, just checking back.I imagine it will once we see today's figures - the difference in streaming before and after the contest was massive last year
Sally!SAME DIFFERENCE RUMOURED FOR 2023
SEAN says: "(a) I'm definitely not a homosexual and (b) Sally and I have written the perfect song"
I keep thinking about it and getting a bit giddy. We have a whole year of this feeling ahead of usHonestly I've not been this enduringly elated about anything (R SAM's simply stunning achievement, not the return of Sean and Sally) since 1997 and I was fresh from performing half-nude on a roof in a purple sequin sarong and had lust on my mind as Katrina swept her way to victory so it wasn't ALL about her
It's a WHOLE NEW WORLD I TELL YOU!

It did include a solo performance but wasn't really MY VERY OWN as I was part of an "alternative cabaret" group feat. constant bitter arguments at rehearsalsYour very own scintillating ROOFTOP PERFORMANCE?
Oh it wasn't. Every contretemps a treasureSounds GHASTLY!
It's so nice to see how enthusiastic and engaged the country is. Strong song + strong performer is such a simple equation to get the public onside; it's bewildering that we've had so much trouble working it out over the past two decades.
but even yesterday I heard “it’s all political” and “it’s a load of old rubbish and people just send novelty songs” from friends.
Apparently Years & Years were rejected in favour of Big Sam
Hi Fleur!I feel like he'll be asked next year if we host, but I feel like we need to send something other than a white man because we've not exactly showcased our diversity in recent years.
THANK GOD FOR THATApparently Years & Years were rejected in favour of Big Sam
Yes and he doesn’t have the tracks of late either.Isn't Olly Alexander quite VARIABLE when it comes to live vocals, too? I think it could have all gone very wrong
Horribly wrong. I for one don't ever want a return to OMG ARE THEY GOING TO SING IN TUNEIsn't Olly Alexander quite VARIABLE when it comes to live vocals, too? I think it could have all gone very wrong
I heard somewhere that Olly wanted to send Crave, which has actually been a decent hit for him anyway. Would have been interesting but yeah, ultimately I doubt it would’ve challenged for the very top.
Sending someone with a genuinely amazing and reliable voice is, I think, the way forward. A general NO TAT policy from now on please. I for one don’t ever want all those years of suffering and shame again now I remember what DOING WELL feels likeI thought Crave was a big 'ol flop and if they were looking for something from that album to send would not be anywhere near the top of the list.
I agree that Sam was a very wise choice. I'm don't think he would have done as terribly as James Newman but Olly and his somewhat wayward warbling is not an ideal fit for Eurovision.
