L∀DY GAGA - MAYHEM (LG7) (3 Viewers)

I've heard one snippet(Perfect Celebrity - ME LIKE, although not quite as much as Abracadabra).

The rest I will exercise some self control and wait 4 and a half hours!

Does she have much in the way of competition on the albums chart?

how do they allocate the venue's full capacity of tickets for a presale? :D

Everyone gets a TICKET!

It's ridiculous! It was an exclusive presale for Citibank credit cardholders only and they only lasted less than 48 hours.

Oh Zen’s review just gets better and better as it goes on! I’m primed for midnight now :disco:

10 How Bad Do U Want Me

This is giving me 1989 Taylor Swift in the best possible way. I can see this becoming a total favourite of mine. Hair's slightly more hinged little sister.

I don’t know Taylor Swift eras but I REALLY thought this sounded like Taylor Swift too.

A quick first listen. REMEMBER THESE ARE JUST OPINIONS STOP BEING HOMOSEXUAL ABOUT IT

1. Disease
Nope.
5/10

2. Abracadabra
Absolutely not.
4/10

3. Garden Of Eden
Oh great, more 2009 production, groundbreaking. The vocals start good and then she just goes back to shouting.
4/10

4. Perfect Celebrity
Oh an actual song with instruments and proper lyrics and singing, how dare she :eyes:
7/10

5. Vanish Into You
This sounds too much like other things she's done before. The verses are better than the chorus.
6/10

6. Killah
Brilliant! Bowie's "Fame" meets Prince's "Controversy". I like it when she gets creative on songs because she has the voice to do it. Sorry but Gaga is so much more interesting when she's not doing 2009 fun for gays EDM. Yes I'm in the minority, but I get to enjoy anomolies like this.
9/10

7. Zombieboy
Loving the 80s funk elements here. The vocal in the verse is lush. Blondie meets Bananarama.
8/10

8. Lovedrug
Starts off great with the soaring synths and the verses are lovely. But the chorus goes back to generic EDM and spoils it for me. Like two different songs.
7/10

9. How Bad Do U Want Me
Sounds like a Taylor Swift song. Liking the Yazoo sample. It's OK, might grow.
6/10

10. Don't Call Tonight
Production on this is lush. Lots of 80s references - getting Pat Benatar, Laura Branigan, Taylor Dane.
8/10

11. Shadow Of A Man
Another 80s song. Very similar to the last one in fact. I'm not complaining. Might grow.
7/10

12. The Beast
This should be better than it wants to be. It's a bit plodding and morose. A missed opportunity.
6/10

13. Blade Of Grass
See above.
6/10

14. Die With A Smile
Yep.
10/10

Definitely worth giving it another listen but a massive step down on the last album, so far.

OK Zombieboy. Take me to the disco. Deep in the 80s. Not what I was expecting, at all.

the chorus melody on Garden of Eden is insane. for the song itself - that Fame era 2008 electro sound isn't my fave but this song is just so cunt and such an unexpected detour from her. I'll allow and I'll bite the apple. but not a single please.

08 KILLAH

I think this will grow on me and yes I get the Prince vibes

The final half where it goes a bit crazy is obviously going to be a Moment when she plays it live

you make me money, I make you laugh
you love to hate me
I'll be your perfect celebrity!!!

the most I've enjoyed a Gaga song on first listen since... ever. can't wait to blast this one LOUD when my neighbours aren't in bed (get up sluts!!!). 10 as a BASELINE

08 Zombieboy

Ok she’s taking us back all the way to the Fame era with this one 🪩 plus a hint of ArtPop

Literally CRYING while putting on my best Courtney Love drag

QUEEN CAME THROUGH

oh the verses of Vanish Into You and specifically the vocals are really giving SEXXX DREAMS :o :disco:

from the reactions I thought this one would be more ballady. I love this. sparkly, a bit glam rock. and she hasn't written a lyric like this before.
