“I don’t sing for straight men ’cause they just ruin the world,” she sings on one track. On another, she reminds you: Don’t sleep on her.

Musically, Allie transported back to the early Eighties and late Seventies. There are touches of Joy Division, Cocteau Twins, Blondie, and Vince Clarke across the LP, and lots of LinnDrum beats. One song, she says, “has an early Madonna thing and then a bit of Kate Bush as well.”

Weird World is good (maybe very good) but GALINA is so TITS!!!

Just given Galina a listen, excellent. The synths this era just sing to me.

She can do so much with her voice but I love it when she chooses to take a chorus more quietly.

The album is very good, not sure if it is better than Cape God yet, certainly different though.

Black Eye is one of the tracks of the year and this album was pretty great when I listened through - I should give it a few more spins. Definitely deserves to be up there mentioned with Chappell and Charli in great pop albums this year

Revisiting the album this afternoon, and it really is fantastic. I didn't sit with it much when it came out but she's got a pretty fantastic hit rate in my opinion.

Bon Voyage is great, probably mid to lower tier on the album but that is no shame. Looking forward to the other new song and the TR/ST version of Off With Her Tits on the deluxe.
