I think Twitter is one child pornography scandal away from being purged in the same way Tumblr was, the way pornography without any sort of control seems to be accessible on the platform in two clicks.

REALLY! Who’s got time to sit through a 20 minute spoof of Spider-Man: No Wank Home when you can flick through 16 second videos of people having it off in public toilets.
 
This is because so many people now block blue checks on sight/use browser extensions to do so, I'm guessing :eyes:
 
Is he TRYING to make the platform obsolete? If people can't block accounts that they don't like they'll jump ship. If he has even ONE brain cell he'll realize it's a bad idea and bring it back.

But the World would feel better if he popped his clogs. He's taken an overall positive thing (imo) and just made it so needlessly unpleasant

It just keeps getting worse.

This will apparently only apply to X Premium users (for the moment at least). It seems like a sure-fire way to drive away their only paying users.

Someone received a response from the compliance team that an account with violent homophobic and antisemitic material "didn't contain any safety issues" and a person referencing said account went and killed someone for displaying a pride flag in their shop window. :)

Just the beginning as far as I'm concerned. Twatter was dangerous before, now it's a Wild West with Musk in charge.
 
Very rarely use it but might sacrifice my AD account now as well. (I deleted my main a couple of months back after using it for like 15 years or something). It's getting to the point of being irresponsible to contribute to their user count

It strikes me that knowing Musk he'll probably disable account deletions and tweet deletions soon, citing some "wisdom" about how everything on the internet is permanent and should be, so time might be of the essence.

Do you know what's even weirder is people that apparently don't use Twitter posting about other people using Twitter.

Anyway, I left after my recent 'trans kids at school' debacle and haven't really been back since. Has been really liberating.
 
I think people proclaiming the death of twitter vastly under-estimate how much of a unique culture it has which you can’t just replicate with a similar app, which is why all the competitors are failing.
