New single and follow-up to "I Ain't Worried", which was their biggest hit in a decade.

One of the co-writers was also behind Jonas Brothers' "Waffle House"

Their singles tend to take a year to ascent the charts so I figure this will peak in JAN 2024.

I've changed my mind about them since I Saw them live a couple of weeks ago. Ryan Tedder is amazing on stage, I understand they need to release something like this to get streams and airplay but the guy is seriously talented.

They lack an identity/legacy of any kind as a group, but "Kids" / "Counting Stars" / "Apologize" all 11/10.

Do you think so? I think they’ve cemented themselves as one of the premier soft rock groups of the 21C in America, alongside Maroon 5 and Coldplay.

That and his contribution as a songwriter as well…

Why has he / have they been cancelled?

I’m not a Maroon 5 fan by any means but you can’t deny their success…

Wasn't he involved in some cheating scandal during 2022, hence why he has been keeping quiet? He also disappeared from The Voice where he had been a long-time judge with Gwen Stefani.

I don’t think he was cancelled as such, more just mocked for being such a sleazy, desperate cheater.

I'm more for cancelling Maroon 5 for being UTTER ROT

I have never understood how so many could cope with Levine's self love and painfully YELPY vocal style.

Coldplay are unfashionable, but really do have an almighty catalogue, and don't get enough kudos for successfully evolving from being Travis Part II.

Neither of them have however come up with anything as SPLENDID as "Kids". Faceless, anonymous Ryan Tedder UP

I wasn't referring to his songwriting work for other artists, but just their legacy as a group. I wouldn't put them in the same league as Maroon 5 / Coldplay. Both of those acts consistently push out platinum albums / arena tours for nearly two decades (well not really in the last few years perhaps) and have cemented some loyal following. OneRepublic have been prolific but seem more dependent on a current hit than a solidified legacy.

I finally worked out what the chorus to this reminds me of.

Both are bops tbh.

They've finally announced the album. Looks like 7 of the 16 songs will be previously released buzz singles (including "I Ain't Worried")

"Hurt" is the newest released today. Album out next week.

will their pointless cover of Dragonstea Din Tei be included or will ie hopefully be left behind forever and ever?

I quite like "Hurt" on first listen!

Seems like a mistake they waited two years after "I Ain't Worried" to release an album. Its success already seems like ancient history

"I Don't Wanna Wait" is also a bop

oh that's not-

I Don’t Wanna Wait is fun but it burns quick. Doesn’t look like it’s on the album?

Genius is listing it as on the album with all the other pre release singles, just tacked on near the end. Not sure how reliable that is.

Oh not the one I saw, but in a streaming world (UK only TBF) it makes no sense not to have it on there.

I’m looking at their chart history and they have never had a #1 album in the US :o

I don't think they care at this stage? they have a dozen enduring hits and the main singer must be loaded from all the royalties thanks to Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Taylor Swift, and JORDIN SPARKS.

Their albums have generally had long chart runs rather than opening with big numbers, although the last couple sunk pretty quick without a hit. I assume this one will do the same but at least expected it to make the top 20. I guess they waited too long after “I Ain’t Worried”

The new album is so fun for the masses, I'm not interested at all. It sounds AI generated.

I'm not overly fussed on them but Apologize was one of my favourite songs of the noughties and I do think that Oh My My was a really good album. They added a touch more acoustic/alternative to their sound and it really suited them. The rest of the time they sound really overproduced (yes, like Imagine Dragons)

Is that the one that has Wherever I Go and Kids? I loved that one.

Yep. There's a song tucked away at the end called "All These Things" which is similar to Kids and it's quite magnificent.
