The Chromatica Ball Tour 2022

That was so good. She really is an incredible performer. She didnt miss a note and all the while dancing like a lunatic. How she sings and dances so perfectly with no heavy backing track amazes me. Knowing the setlist, I left before Hold My Hand to beat the crowds but seemingly everyone else did too. I asked a few people and they all said the same, that they knew the setlist and didnt care about seeing Hold My Hand either. I can only think that there is some contractual thing with the movie studio for that to be the show closer. She must have noticed half the stadium emptying before and during the song. Because of the 22:30 curfew, she had to skip The Edge of Glory. Why they didnt just start at 20:00 as opposed to 20:30 I don't know as there was no supporting act. The streets around the stadium before the gig were quite a sight. A wash of pink and the most flamboyant outfits you can imagine. It looked like a Pride rally 😀

Yes but did you get an invite to participate in the orgy in the 3rd floor bathroom stalls? :o

So I loved it, but if you’re going to do a whole show based on (the fairly underwhelming) Chromatica, then at least end on the big hitters and not spunk them on what was admittedly the most amazing concert opening I’ve seen in quite some time.

Nothing from Artpop or Joanne was a CHOICE as well.

It really is just an awful song isn't it. What was she thinking?

we did get a hint of JOANNE in the form of the lovely Angel Down because they wouldn't let her off the piano stage when the rainstorm was just starting.

She looked TERRIFIED and so WERE WE!

stay tuned for more Pipo content. In the end, we waited for 2 hours in case she came back and she did, just to apologize :basil: I'll post the video later. We missed out on Fun Tonight, Enigma, Stupid Love, Rain On Me and Hold my hand (but who's checking for that girl anyway).

not "just one second" ending up being two hours :D she's giving me

IKR. She was so sweet and was clearly upset about the whole thing.

With the Miami show being the tour closer it was evident she was tired as fuck, I don't feel she was giving her best while doing choreo. Lovely vocals all throughout though.
Opening a show with 3 of your most popular/recognized singles was nothing short of iconic though I feel we were a bit cheated on since she sings them inside a BOX with not a lot happening but afterward it made sense in the context of the tour's concept, something about the old poptastic Gaga dying and later being revived in what appeared to be a BRUTALIST hospital laying on an operation bed while Chrmoatica I segued into Alice played on; which brings me to this, I felt the Chromatica songs didn't translate well in a live setting, she should have brought a DJ in her live band because the same cannot be said, for example, the Red One songs that were enhanced with some kind of rock elements to them and worked wonders even giving the chance for her guitar & bass players to show off a bit.

Also, after AGES of bringing out the fucking piano I felt that thanks to both Shallow and ARUTW Gaga's finally found her ground since she does seem to have a penchant for piano BALLIDS (and thankfully she can retire Brown Eyes, Dope, and Speechless forever) girl really shines in this segment, I would dare to say it was definitely the show's highlight. Edge OF Glory works very well as a ballad (would love to have a studio version someday) and Born This Way in it's Gospel-like rendition was amazing, too bad the thunderstorm just got worse and after singing Angel Down her security team quickly sprinted to get her off the stage and escort her to safety leaving her monsters out in the fucking rain.

oh ABSOLUTELY @ all that. she also did 1000 Doves in its original piano form at my show and i literally died.

also, the TikTok format songs need to die, I didn't fully realize how short the Cromatica songs are until the show; the moment Alice and 911 start to go off they're over and performing abridged versions of the duets (namely Telephone, Sour Candy and Just Dance) didn't help either.
