I'm having an Eat to the Beat evening...

1. Union City Blue
2. Dreaming
3. Atomic
4. Rapture
5. Hanging on the Telephone
6. Heart of Glass
7. Angels on the Balcony
8. Accidents Never Happen
9. Slow Motion
10. Night Wind Sent

Debbie solo:

1. French Kissin' in the USA
2. Sweet and Low (single remix)
3. Brite Side
4. He is So
5. In Love with Love
6. Chrome
7. I'll Never Fall in Love
8. Secret Life
9. Strike Me Pink
10. Rain

Also, I have been giving considerable time to re-visiting The Hunter. The wheels were certainly coming off ("Dragonfly", "Little Ceasar", "The Beast" are the worst offenders), and it is noticeably less inspired than the albums that preceded it, but it does have some sultry gems that *nearly* trouble my top ten. "English Boys" has grown on me loads these past few days....

Now peace and love are gone
The tired soldier's home
Ideal society
Gunned down the Seventies...

I love The Hunter, like I know it's a bit wonky, but that's part of the charm, and I fully love the aborted Bond theme, 'War Child', 'English Boys' and that incredible 'buccaneer/truck in gear' couplet in 'Island...'.

Plus, it could have been worse considering the state of the band can be summed up in this one televised performance of 'Island of Lost Souls':

  1. Atomic
  2. Maria
  3. Long Time
  4. Heart of Glass
  5. Call Me
  6. One Way Or Another
  7. Sunday Girl
  8. Union City Blue
  9. Dreaming
  10. Rapture

Christ that's sad. How long did Debbie alone represent the whole of Blondie? I seem to recall when they appeared on TOTP in 1994 doing the Atomic remix, it was just Debbie.

Blondie

1. Call Me
2. Heart of Glass
3. Picture This
4. Dreaming
5. Atomic
6. Maria
7. Rapture
8. (I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence, Dear
9. Good Boys
10. Sunday Girl

Love a bit of solo DEBS as well but I don't know enough of her material to put a proper top 10 together. "Brite Side" is my favourite solo Debs.

I haven't really dabbled in solo Debbie. Obviously I know French Kissing and I Want That Man, but that's about it.

1. Angels On The Balcony
2. Rules For Living
3. Dreaming
4. In The Flesh
5. Danceway
6. Atomic
7. Sunday Girl
8. Denis
9. X-Offender
10. Suzy & Jeffrey

I seem to randomly have the Def, Dumb and Blonde album in my collection (well not quite random given that 'Brite Side' is my favourite song of hers). I'm sure I had KooKoo somewhere as well but I can't find it. And now I'm annoyed because it appears to be deleted on Amazon (no CD copies!) - though obviously most if not all her discog is on Spotify...

Debs:

1. Rush Rush
2. I Want That Man
3. Two Times Blue
4. End Of The Run
5. Brite Side
6. Strike Me Pink
7. Standing In My Way
8. If I Had You
9. I Can See Clearly
10. Videodrome :)

Debbie might be one of the most disappointing solo artists ever in my opinion. Perhaps Blondie set the bar too high for her although she had some decent singles here and there.

Blondie:

1 Hanging On The Telephone
2 Atomic
3 Heart of Glass
4 Union City Blue
5 Long Time
6 Picture This
7 Dreaming
8 Call Me
9 What I Heard
10 Sunday Girl

Debbie :

1 In Love With Love (SAW 7” remix)
2 French Kissin’ In The USA
3 Two Times Blue
4 Brite Side
5 Free To Fall

  1. Atomic
  2. Maria
  3. Long Time
  4. Heart of Glass
  5. Call Me
  6. One Way Or Another
  7. Sunday Girl
  8. Union City Blue
  9. Dreaming
  10. Rapture
I could add many...

Already Naked
Doom or Destiny
Good Boys
War Child
11:59
Fade Away and Radiate
Will Anything Thing Happen
(I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence Dear
Hanging on the Telephone
Picture This
Denis
Rip Her To Shreds

I haven't really dabbled in solo Debbie. Obviously I know French Kissing and I Want That Man, but that's about it.

She's never really consistently delivered as a solo artist, but Def Dumb and Blonde and KooKoo both have a lot to enjoy.

01 Picture This
02 Heart Of Glass
03 Atomic
04 Rapture
05 (I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence, Dear
06 Long Time
07 One Way Or Another
08 Union City Blue
09 Call Me
10 The Hardest Part

1. Picture This

3. Slow Motion
4. Nothing Is Real But The Girl
5. Atomic
6. Union City Blue
7. Heart Of Glass
8. Detroit 442

It's amazing how the album tracks feature strongly when they're SUCH a great singles band.

Debbie Top Ten:

1. French Kissin' In The USA
2. Two Times Blue
3. Backfired
4. Inner City Spillover
5. The Jam Was Moving
6. I Want That Man
7. Sweet and Low
8. Well Did You Evah!
9. Now I Know You Know
10.In Love With Love

"Chrome" is now troubling my Debbie solo top two this morning. I have no clue was 90% of the lyrics are but it's stunning

You won't seeeee the dress for the CHAMEEEEELEOOOOOOOOONNNNNN

i'm a rubbish fan but here's a top ten.

01 heart of glass - a lazy choice perhaps but it's an absolutely perfect song
02 call me
03 rapture
04 dreaming
05 atomic
06 long time - i really, really love this
07 union city blue
08 hanging on the telephone
09 in the flesh
10 sunday girl

for the cwej book of stats: i rather hate one way or another and maria.

this one televised performance of 'Island of Lost Souls':

The state of that. She could have cheered it up a bit by falling on the audience :disco:

Actually I really like “Where did he go? / I’m tired of waiting here for him” but the rest of it is shocking tripe

I actually wouldn't put One Way or Another or Rapture in a top 10 either.

  1. Atomic
  2. Maria
  3. Long Time
  4. Heart of Glass
  5. Call Me
  6. Picture This
  7. Union City Blue
  8. Dreaming
  9. Denis
  10. Hanging On the Telephone
BETTER!

I’m reminded that I absolutely love ‘11:59’

Today can last another million years :disco:
Today could be the end of me :(

Love a bit of solo DEBS as well but I don't know enough of her material to put a proper top 10 together. "Brite Side" is my favourite solo Debs.

GOD YES

Having watched more than a few Debs videos today, there’s something about her which is reminding me of MADAME (although the hair in this one is bringing to mind Alison Goldfrapp). Perhaps it’s the bone structure. @jivafox to pop in and share thoughts please :disco:

Is there a reason No Exit is nowhere to be found on any streaming or digital platform? "Night Wind Sent" doesn't get enough love , it's gorgeous

For unspoken value, aesthetic and charm:

Maria
Dreaming
Two Times Blue (SoulSeekerz Edit)
I Want That Man
French Kissin'
Long Time
Doom or Destiny
Heart of Glass
New York New York (Moby featuring Debbie Harry)
Fantastic Fabulous (Luscious Jackson featuring Deborah Harry)

Can anyone be a godsend and stick No Exit, Panic of Girls and Curse of Blondie YKW? They LITERALLY DO NOT EXIST on any platform to stream OR buy digitally and I do not have a disc drive anymore to listen to them on CD....

Anyway, while I'm here, I'm having a "SHAYLA" evening:

Shayla turned to run away
To leave in peace and end her stay
Years of fear were in her way
Lost in space and down she came...

That transition to "Union City Blue" is everything too
