Is it a winner?

It's alright. I find the "power for the people" bits a bit much but I like the anthemic feel of the chorus.

i hate to be the voice of doom but you should really adjust your expectations people

in my opinion!

I think most people's expectations are that we might finally break the Top 10 this year. I don't think it's THAT out of the question?

Contrary to previous expectations I'm quite excited about Louf coming to the Eurovision forum.

TBH it's about time I diversified.

This is the era for me when my singles start flopping so I do a QVC jewellery line.

Although I have noticed since coming in here I've been double posting like mad.

Was I supposed to wear a condom or something?

i think it's ludicruous but then what do i know

In the studio version, the phrasing is REALLY like Agnes (Which is hardly surprising given the writer)

I've decided I hate the "Power to the People" bits. But the rest is still RATHER GOOD...

I have decided we're going to win, barring the fact that something better still might arrive.

LIKE VALENTINA FOR EXAMPLE.

Ludicrous that this would go top ten? Do you really not think the juries at least might take to this?

i haven't heard anything else yet this year but unless it's a very poor year i think this will really struggle. it's so formulaic and out of touch, the lyrics are so painfully trite and she looks and sounds like such an unappealing performer that i think it will be a serious contender for the absolute bottom of the table. probably my least favourite uk entry of the last 10 years after daz sampson.

yes, i thought engelbert was more exciting.

This explains a lot.

But even in a good year I think this would be a contender for at least a top 10 finish.

You're in for a real shock when you listen to the rest of the entries selected so far :D

It's ok but I don't expect much. She has an interesting voice, but the music is not memorable or climaxing to sth big, it's just there.
As for the lyrics am not a fan of world peace songs. If I was the BBC I would have asked Ellie Goulding to do it.
On a second listen (using the studio version this time) it's much better.

We were all thinking it, right?

*Louf gives 12 to Sylvester Schlegel just to piss off the Euro Queens*

Babe I had no idea Sylvester was so unpopular here

But THANKS for the tip :disco:

CotU has been stuck in my head all week!

I know it's months away, but I think Mollé is going to be BRINGING EUROVISION HOME for 2015. :disco:

I assume the studio version they played on the radio the other day was a demo? The BBC haven't uploaded it or made any reference to it yet and it was only being mastered two days before it was played, so I don't think we've heard the finished article just yet.

It doesn't sound quite finished, nor does it sound like Anders Hansson has twiddled his nobs over it either and he's definitely involved.

I did think the studio version was lacking SOMETHING. The 'OHHH oh oh oh OHHH' bits need to be bigger. It's the main/best hook.

At first I think I was just tolerating this because I want so badly for the UK entry to be good, but I proper love it now. The croaky distress of it all is rather rousing.
