RuPaul's Drag Race

I started watching Season 2 (because my friend is weird and told me to start there), but I accidentally found out the winner and now I'm so disgusted that such a HUMOURLESS CUNT could come out on top that I don't think I can carry on. I feel a Tyra Banks style breakdown coming on.

It's a great season regardless of the winner, keep at it GNL.

Yeah, I always fall for the useless, slutty girls. First Carmen and Phi Phi and now Joslyn. I'd also want to fuck the shit out of Adore as a boy.

The only one I have EVER been attracted to is Phi Phi. He was just perfect as a boy.

Season 2 is one of the best. Season 1 I didn't even finish - it's such a low standard compared to what followed.

I'm pleased I saw season 1 before I saw anything else as even though I agree the general standard of everything (even Ru's hair...) is poor, there were so many essential moments. Like many, I felt Nina was the stand out from the start but it was obvious that Bebe was Ru's favourite to win from the Queens of All Media task which was basically an internship for the real thing. Shannel was incredible throughout for one reason or another though and her calling the judges out for not calling her beautiful and the whole reunion show was just incred.

Scrolling down this page and seeing that, I just assumed it was about Jeffrey Moran.

I've finally started on season 3 - just watched the sci fi episode, and Mimi Imfurst standing on the runway looking EXACTLY like Matt Lucas was too fucking much :D

Mimi Imfurst really was something ELSE. Second only to Laganja when it comes to the most ridiculous people on the show. The Untucked for that episode is amazing too :D

I think the winners were pretty well deserved seasons 1-3. 2's winner especially comes off a lot better watching it again now (every catwalk was basically Beyonce's Sweet Dreams video strut, and the clothes horse maneuver never fails to impress). I'll have to find a torrent for Mimi's Untucked histrionics, what a state she must be given I can barely look at her on the main show. It's telling that in season 3 faces you don't remember pop up, whereas in season 1 most of them were all great viewing. RIP Merle of course. In retrospect, she was completely out of her depth. Also, I think it's about 6 episodes into season 3 before Michelle actually becomes a bitch. And regarding her weight, the only possibly explanation is that she must have been in a coma for seasons 1 and 2 to have been that thin.

Finished season 3 and went RIGHT onto 4, and right away I can tell they've gone for far more abrasive/obnoxious queens :D It's almost like the difference between Big Brother series 4 and 5, casting-wise. OMG at the Shangela moment, I think she might be my favourite of all the queens ever.

As far as the season 3 finale went, I think it was the right winner of those three but wanted there to be some payback for the awful Heathers clique stuff - the mealy mouthed justifications in the reunion episode didn't quite work for me. And speaking of the reunion, Michelle Visage strutting down the runway in a neck brace :D

Has Mimi Imfurst returned under the name Madame LaQueer? They look exactly the same, particularly as men :o

A lot of very GUMMY queens this season I notice. I'm already quite liking Sharon Needles and her goth look, and the Latina midget. Chad Michaels goes without saying, I think - it's funny that they gave Venus a hard time last season for her facial surgery, and now we have THIS :D

I should mention I'm basing that on half the first episode, and all her screentime so far was basically her entrance :D

Is the Latina Small Person referenced Kenya Michaels? She made my skin crawl.

Sharon Needles' zombie runway look was properly :o/:disco:

Elvira to replace Santino on the panel permanently please.

Onto the third episode and I can see the Kenya Michaels hate - she was just a total bitch to poor Madame LaQueer :o Sharon's still my favourite, I could also see myself warming up to Willam but she's so fucking SMUG at this point (I think she'd benefit from getting to a later stage with fewer queens).

Well I hate the NAME, but she's not stood out much yet (despite being team captain in two episodes :eyes:)

EDIT: She just sabotaged Sharon in the advert challenge! CUNT!

Finished season 4 last night - AMAZING winner, possibly my favourite queen from any series I've watched so far :disco: I really didn't like the finale being combined with the reunion episode though, since I like hearing from the winner when they've had a bit of time for it to sink in. I liked the idea of a live finale episode, but also want a 'normal' reunion episode afterwards.

One of my favourite things after finishing a season is going back through this thread and seeing what everyone was saying at the time. Nice to see other folk seemed to appreciate Sharon, Chad and Latrice as much as me, though I'm agog at anyone fancying Phi Phi fucking O'Hara :o Utterly hideous WHATEVER the gender.

The final episode isn't really live, it's pre-recorded. Sharon was definitely the deserving winner, though I liked her a lot more on the show than after.

I found the live on stage reunion format a little jarring at first, but they did seem to 'get into it' in subsequent seasons. I'd still like them to do an additional one in a more intimate setting (maybe Merle could find the time to host that one).

Phi Phi was good-looking as a guy, but his Matt Lucas as Barbara Cartland wig on the finale was a satisfying image as she struggled to win favour with the crowd. She was a good villain in retrospect, completely rabid and toxic most of the time. Jiggly, who I can't stand really, was good in the finale if I remember - her favourite past-time of having an emotional breakdown used to spectacular effect (ie kicking Phi Phi whilst she was down). She also did a decent comedy Born This Way, and even if her ensembles were literally trash, her eye make-up was usually stunning.

However, Willam was clearly the real winner of the evening.

You have a weird obsession with Merle :D

Like DC, I liked Sharon on the show but now I kind of dislike her.

Oh yes, Willam calling Phi Phi a sociopath and coughing BULLSHIT at the perfect moment was just everything :disco:

I feel the same. Ironically, Alaska has went from strength to strength. To think I thought she was a total suicide case going on how she came across before her own season. Speaking of which, I began watching Season Alyssa earlier today (a.k.a season 5).

They do put Alaska in then? It seemed likely from the end of season 4, poor bugger auditioning every time then his other half swanning right through to win on his first go :D

Yaaaas! I went from not really liking her to being 100% #TeamAlaska

Just started on All Stars - I'll really have to get round to seeing season 1 soon, because OMG TAMMIE BROWN :D

I feel so sorry for Pandora being paired with Mimi Imfurst :(

Tammie Brown's lipsynch to a Michelle Williams song in the presence of Michelle is a classic.

I enjoyed All Stars for the most part, but the last couple of episodes were so hard to watch with all those amazing queens up against each other (Shannel was there as well). Amazing winner, but any of the 'top 3' would've been more than worthy. Oh and I actually cried during the Raven/Juju lipsync to Dancing On My Own :(

As for the revelatory Ms Brown, I'm planning to watch s1 AFTER getting up to date on 5 and 6 so that I can save her for last. Also (and apologies if someone's said it already), would I be entirely off base in suggesting that her male persona bore a passing physical resemblance to a certain member of our own community? Yes, it's Chlammie Brown :disco:
