RuPaul's Drag Race (1 Viewer)

I'm still really pissed that Netflix UK has removed season 1. Waiting for it to buffer while streaming is such an unnecessary chore.
 
I've read that statement about 15 times this morning and still don't get it.
 
Oh God, sorry, I was so very drunk (still am).

She was fab, but she was on stage for all of 20 minutes, the majority of which she spent making random members of the audience lip sync.

And she was the only other queen I'd consider seeing because I was expecting a full stand up show.

My flatmate said it was veering into the just-plain-distasteful and unfunny at points. And that she hadn't really translated some of her humour for the British audience and thus it didn't really work.
 
Well there was so little actual standup it was hard to tell!

To be fair, my friend saw her in Manchester and said she was great (but yes, very un-PC). Given the venue I saw her in was a divey gay bar (Viaduct, for those familiar) and the tickets were "only" £15, I guess it might have been sold to Bianca as a PA more than a gig.
 
These PAs are different from her Rolodex of Hate shows, I think? Those ones are advertised as hour long stand-up shows, so I'd certainly hope so :o
 
It sounds a lot like the time I saw her, except without Kala (RIP) losing his shit to the Buffalo Girls :(

The album (like her last release) is bloody awful and more than half of the tracks are 30 second interludes.

If RuPaul and Michelle asked you to join them on the podcast would you do it?

Apparently I’m forbidden and I’m kinda pissed it even became a discussion point. I can’t control what people talk about but someone asked me on Tumblr if I would ever do it and I replied “YEP” because I listen to it. Then someone decided to repost it with “Your move, Ru” on Reddit and tag the producer of the show (ParagonPod). Producerman declined to elaborate but said it’s not any of their calls…which is funny to me because I thought Ru was Ru’s boss.
I dunno what I ever did to Ru but whatever…and I’d definitely consider myself close with Michelle. My prob was never with Ru. My prob was with some of her team members - and you can’t right the ship until you know where it’s taking on water. World of Wonder has consistently lied to my face. Look at all the leaks and how shit gets out nowadays every season. My elimination was a fuckin secret and stayed that way. I’ve proved trustworthy with the important stuff. I mean people still don’t know the real reasons! Sure, I’ve said out of line stuff but, y’know, you reap what you sow. They should learn to treat people how they want to be treated. I almost said they “need to learn” but they don’t need to since there will always be hungry & thirsty people willing to work under their warped guidelines and one-sided deals. I mean I recorded Supermodel for the Bravo program Showdogs Moms & Dads (because engineer/tech told me they couldn’t get the rights to it for broadcast since Ru doesn’t own it even though it’s a WoW produced show- notice her biggest hit is never on RDR?) and was paid just $50 for like 4 hours of work. How is that fair? $50. I coulda made more sucking dick. Yet I went back and worked for them time and time again. They needed strippers for a party. DONE. They needed drama on a game show. DONE. They need a killer episode of Ring my Bell. DONE. But no more. I’d rather create my own content with a bedside manor I’ve adopted by watching other’s shortcomings. I dunno how many rooms I’ve been in with people moaning about jacked ideas, not getting their day rate with them, not getting credit, etc… I’m just the most visible.
The good news is though is that inclusion on podcast is not gonna make me and it’s def not gonna break me. More good news is that I’ve got a lot of friends there who tell me that it’s just a select few who don’t like me. When my book comes out, I plan on setting up a food truck and delivering to any WoW employee who wants one a free copy along with donuts and coffee….well, coffee or T in this case.

p.s. When this gets reposted and discussed elsewhere, know that I’m not bitter. I just think open and honest discussions should be had instead of gossip and fibs. Also, this isn’t me trying to stir shit. Someone asked me a question and I answered it. I meant to only write one line but then I knew somebody would be all like “I thought you don’t talk about the show?” like a dick. I know for a fact that the final straw was me publicly mentioning I wasn’t on All-Stars because I guess it confirmed it was happening. I was volunteering at the camp for GLBT teens and didn’t want to have to cancel on them so I asked for an answer and WoW gave it to me with no stipulation that I had to be quiet about it. Then I hear I pissed them off by crunching some of their eggshells I didn’t know I was walking on. They then sent an email to all the girls requesting that they neither confirm or deny their participation. Y’know- to further string their fans along and hype their program (I’m not on the group list anymore). I love all the opportunities working with them has allowed me to capitalize on but I’m also less concerned with pleasing them and more concerned with the future. The future of my career. The future with me being happy and not worrying about getting sued. The future of DRAG. I’m loving the fact that I get to work with Bianca, Peaches Christ, #AAAGirls, Adore, Jackie Beat & the House of Edwards. They’re the future of drag. RuPaul’s Drag Race purports to find America’s Next Drag Superstar just like ANTM says they’re going to find a supermodel. Looking at the winners, they’ve def been wrong way more than they’ve been right. Not a read. #FACT

Not bitten Slay Belles yet - is there absolutely nothing good on it? The first was certainly dreadful.

I'd love for Willam's post to be part of the plan for a surprise final All-Stars entrance. After last season, as many classic antagonists and "feeling the fantasy" queens would be just the ticket.
 
The queens are releasing a Christmas album next week. I'm guessing it's independent of WoW as Willam and Courtney are on it.
 
I've constantly said it on here and I'll say it again - I honestly believe Ru's podcast will be the undoing of her. She doesn't come across as a nice person on it. Drag Race is heavily edited so that Ru comes across as the likeable star but on the podcast without all the wizardry of the editing suite and the spoon-fed lines from producers Ru just comes across as a nasty, money-grabbing old queen who can't string a sentence together.

Do enough people actually LISTEN to it for it to be her undoing? As much as I love Drag Race, I gave up because I found it tiresome and I think a lot of fans will do the same.

They're annoying but hardly her undoing. The one with Laganja was super awkward as she sat there repenting to Ru and Michelle.

Michelle talks about specific knowledge she thinks she knows about but then follows up with shit about astrology
Michelle talks about her ludicrous medical fad

A bit rich coming from the queen who's main reason for being on her season was her falling out with Alyssa.

It's a reality show and if they believe they care about them more than they do ratings then they are fools.

Fun fact: We both wear houseshoes when our feet ain't on cam. But one of us adds sweatpants and that all present earpiece so we can bullshit about "humanity." (cc: @courtneyact). Guess who cause I legally shouldn't say. Whoever made this side by side can grab onto that same radiator in a hot corner of hell that the person from the other day is still chained to cause Ru looks beautiful even if she is more hateful than a Whitewalker.
