It's the lesson I learned from this round. I submitted a song by an artist I've been looning about for months, more to introduce them than in expectation of getting anywhere.

Having said that I really liked your song from ASFM, and I think @Chlammy has it as his ringtone.

Try getting a divisive song that gathers a cult following, then stoking an us versus them mentality to see it scrape to the final.

It's a legitimate strategy!
