The fact that I can’t hear this right now is devastating me but that artwork omg. She is coming to save us all and for a #1 debut with all those variants!

The American critic David Ilic once wrote of free improvising group AMM that their albums "are as alike and as unalike as trees". Which is a very polite way of saying "it's more of the same old shit but I am absolutely here for it."

Which is how I feel about this.

liner notes

tl;dr - she was stoned in the garden but nothing offensive this time

I need a full track list! Do we have any titles aside from this and “fingertips”?
American Whore (Jack Antonoff)
The Grants
Sweet

Jack just said on instagram that American Whore is his favourite thing they've done. and an apparently reliable insider says

"This will be her most confessional album. Record about memories, stories from the past as well as hopes for the future and uncertainty surrounding it. Heavily narrative driven, wordy, chaotic and very vulnerable. A diary of a girl who searches for guidance."

Re: A&W (American Whore):

"This song... just wild, fucking wild. It's definitely their most sonically interesting and unprecedented work to date. Probably my favorite song on the record as well."

This gets better with each listen. The music on it is stunning, especially the "Harry Nilsson" bit onward. Not shaking and crying over it yet, but I know the album will be her best since Norman.

WHEN'S IT GONNA BE MY TURN???!!!

LOVE THIS! More of the same old, but what a SAME OLD it is :disco:

It also made me revisit Blue Bannisters, which I'm happy to confirm ranks as some of her absolute best work for me :disco:
So delicate, so sad and then DEALER launches itself into the party half-way through screeching with the sound of wine-drunk devastation :disco:
I don't think it got a fair shot at the time, feeling too much material too soon.

I'm so on the same page as you here. Blue Banisters is an outstanding piece of work!

Go listen to Jamaica Inn.

Nevertheless I'm still calling for back-up @one more jiva in the snow

The way Dealer really could have been a proper chart hit, but Lana was too blazed to be bothered to release it as a single :disco: TO BE FAIR it could still be should it have another TikTok MOMENT.

Wasn't Lana supposed to have the biggest song in the USA at one point when Queen of Disaster (unreleased) randomly went viral, but she couldn't be arsed to even whack it up on streaming? :D

Well thats certainly a Lana Del Rey song. But a top tier one

Just realised what a nightmare this album is going to be to play on Alexa :D

"Alexa, please play "My Daddy Raised The Confederate Flag On The Hillside On My 18th Birthday And I Could Only Watch In My Red Dress With A Can Of Cherry Vanilla Coke While Franklin D Roosevelt Appeared In The Clouds And Then Rained On Us All And My Cake Got Wet With The Tears Of The Founding Fathers" by Lan...oh you KNOW WHO"
