And Just Like That... (Sex & The City revival)

As if the thief dumped the Birkin and no one on the street picked it up I’m going to explode.

I’m glad they got the Etsy jewellery designer in there - had been on my mind for two years. Glad she’s doing well.

Such a low stakes heist but at least it allowed Carrie to find her courage 💞

Did Che really have to go to LA to film a TV show? Do they not have sound stages in New York? WE WOULDN’T HAVE KNOWN

Miranda: Please can we wrap this storyline up in the next 5 seconds?

Che: OK LOVE YOU BABES!

I haven’t watched a second of this (or sex and the city got that latter) but I love listening to podcasts about how shit it is.

You know you see TV shows inside TV shows and you think “I’d probably watch that”. Wasn’t getting that vibe from Che’s wokerati vehicle :(

The scene with the necklace stealing and Carrie shouting she has covid was just ridiculous.

I liked the scene with Carrie and her friend who had the facelift talking about how to deal with loss. What appeared at first a superficial scene actually turned out the most genuine of the ep.

Not much else to say really, all quite watchable still. Miranda now back in NY, the three of them are going to have a scene together?! :o

True, it was the only thing that felt genuine and what her friend said about the second year being the worst made me realise that I had the same experience but hadn’t thought about it.

Omg I hope we get a bottle episode that’s a full episode of ‘Che Pasa’.

I lost it at the show writer beaming with pride watching it being filmed like it was a seminal piece of work!

Is ‘Che Pasa’ meant to be terrible I can’t tell!? Is it a meta commentary on AJLT?

I highly recommend the Every Outfit podcast for anyone who enjoys a thorough deconstruction of this absurd show!

God I love this podcast!

Is there one for soon to be HBO classic “The Idol”?

Is it me or is every scene really short and not in a quick fast paced plot moving way

It’s seemingly all too drawn out and too short at the same time! Too much happening at once but also nothing happening at all!

I would shit myself if someone let themselves into my flat! That just wouldn’t happen!

Remember when SJP took an already played out storyline and turned it into a decent film, then followed it up with a completely unnecessary, ridiculous and quite dreadful sequel?

Welcome to the TV version!

I am kind of obsessed by Che Pasa’s evil writer BD.

Kim Cattrall is on record to say that she got the script for the third film and its basically the first season of JLT.

I actually loved both movies; the second was ridiculous but still fun to watch as a silly romcom (and the precursor to RHOM that gave us some of Pettifleur’s finest work :stopthefuck:)

AJLT is not even the Forever to the orginal show’s Spice and Spice World but rather that short lived and thankfully forgotten GEM era.

Is Kim Cattrall Geru in this analogy?

One great point they made is that the show has too many side characters, who then in turn have their own side characters. Why is Professor Nia Wallace still in this?!? Miranda has moved to LA and she has no connection to the over girls, so she only appears via phone call! Why is LTW’s HUSBAND getting storylines! Why do we have the girlfriend of the guy Carrie used to do a podcast with in the show! The whole crew of gender non-conforming crew on Che’s show! Tony Danza!

It’s insane when you think about it, and means no storyline gets any time to breathe, as we lurch from one pointless narrative to another, frequently involving characters that barely have any connection to the main 3!

The original show was half the length and would also often wrap up storylines in the course of the episode, but did so by only focusing on the core 4 and also having much sharper and more purposeful writing.
This is such a good summation! The only new character who should have survived from S1 (besides the dreaded Che) is Seema.

The professor is utterly pointless, the school gate mum only less so.

Also, who were all those photographers following Seema to the Met Gala? Isn’t she an estate agent? 😂

On EP2 now - the podcast editor is the nicest person in this show

Oh no, Charlotte, that’s fine, just leave and don’t apologise to that poor sales assistant
