How are you likely to vote?

The awfulness of the Greens campaign has only been marginally eclipsed by the Tory disaster.

If the Greens don’t have the resources for advertising and leaflets, they really need to use what little airtime they receive more effectively.

Carla Denyer and Zack Polanski have been dreadful at explaining their policy positions when under scrutiny, particularly in relation to issues like defence and housing. Carla’s car crash interview with LBC was a low point. I don’t know whether it is naivety or lack of preparation/experience but they haven’t articulated themselves well at all.

They are called paper candidates. The will be real people, verified by the returning officer (if only to check that they are UK/Commonwealth/IRE citizens). Smaller parties often get a volunteer to put their name down even if they live nowhere near.

And Morag McRae definitely sounds like a name that's come from an AI prompt to give a name that sounds "Scottishy"

Fair point. Probably lucky we don't have Porridge McDeepfry standing.

Our local Reform candidate was the only one who had his FULL POSTAL ADDRESS on the ballot paper so I assume he’s legit. A brave move that surely makes his home a target for flying milkshakes.

The greens are just putting effort into where they have a chance though, right? They don't have the money to be competing nationally.

It's more poor spokespeople and poor articulation of policies (and some of the policies themselves), at a moment where they really could have landed a punch.

I'm surprised they haven't managed to find a replacement for Caroline Lucas as a face for the party either.

100% agreed. I align with most of their broad policies but I have absolutely no clue how they plan to deliver or action any of them.

It's kinda competitive here, but the Tories aren't really trying from what I can tell. It should be a fairly notable campaign seeing as if we do go Labour as expected, we'll have had MPs from three different parties within a decade, plus the shit celebrity element. But there's been little media coverage.
I spoke too soon

Postman buzzed my flat earlier and said “got some mail for you although I think some might be rubbish.”

He was right. 2 letters and a piece of crap about the conservatives. Immediately binned it without even scanning beyond the word “Conservatives”.

Does he have to buzz every flat independently?

The "post a thought-provoking picture of Rachel Reeves" thread is going to go hard :disco:

Reeves is the kind of mindless technocrat who stands for absolutely nothing except "competency". it's such a red flag that Starmer has made her his number two.
