Sophie's new single is featured on the new Freemans ad.

A 30-second film starring Ellis-Bextor premieres Friday (13 September) in the prime Coronation Street ad break on ITV and the season opener on Channel 4's Gogglebox as well as YouTube and all major digital channels. Shot on location in Stockport, Warrington and the Trafford Centre, the ad's soundtrack exclusively features a preview of the singer's brand-new single called "Freedom of the Night" which will be released later this month.

Not sure how I feel about her intruding on Louise Redknapp's catalogue fashion turf, but that sounds very promising :disco:

That sounds rather good on that little snippet and I have total faith that SEB has an album of complete bangers in her back pocket.

I just saw her in concert this week, she was sooo sooo good! I’ve been on a Sophie trip all week but that clip ain’t doing anything for me on initial impressions (not helped that I read it as Freemasons instead of Freeman’s and was expecting a Heartbreak / Bittersweet banger)

The Felix Jaehn track Ready For Your Love however is still one of my favorites this year 😍

Paging @RJN (not sure if you’ve seen this or if you’re even a fan but she’s coming back stateside for a third stint!) honestly it was a fantastic show! Well worth $50

I didn’t see that but I am buying a ticket!! I bought ones for DC but couldn’t go, so this’ll be great

Co-written with Duck Blackwell, Chris Greatti, Richard Jones, Shura and Richard "Biff" Stannard. Out October 18. The length is 3:12.

That's quite a gap between the advert first being shown and the song being released. Shura is an interesting collaboration, I know she did a song on the last Melanie C album but I'm not aware of her writing for any other people.

An album in spring would be nice.

Random thought - I assume she's planning a tour for this album. Do we think she'd risk going for larger venues? The MOTD revival has clearly boosted her stock and she's earned a reputation as a great live act. Could backfire, but if she wanted to try it, now would clearly be the time.

Which venues has she been playing? I'm sure she could fill out Apollo sized theatres.

A (relatively?) rare example of a pop star former Strictly contestant going on to have enough of a career to legitimately return as a music guest

I don't know. all the ingredients are there but this doesn't quite pop off for me. yet. hopefully it grows though.

A solid if not spectacular start to the era based on the first couple of listens. Looking forward to the album, this is the best new pop track I heard that came out today.

Is she performing the new single or are they getting her to do Murder for this Sunday's Strictly? One wonders!

That was a very good performance.

It took me a couple of listens to get past feeling like the chorus was an ad jingle (for someone who avoids adverts if at all possible I have seen that Freeman's one A LOT), but now I am fully on board with the return of the SEB pop juggernaut.

UK Tour announced.

Also the video is coming tomorrow, and it’s a sequel to Murder on the Dancefloor.

In the past couple of weeks I’ve bought tickets for Wendy James, Kim Wilde, T’Pau/Katrina (don’t ask), Cyndi Lauper, Skunk Anansie and Alanis Morissette. These ladies will be bankrupting me at this rate. Ageing gay problems I guess.

Same but Cyndi, Kylie, Kim Wilde and Janet Jackson.

Insert Jennifer Coolidge ‘These gay icons are trying to kill me’ gif.

Good for SEB getting her upgraded tour. 'Summer 2025' feels very vague/distant for the album though.

Is it about DENTAL STRAIGHTENING?

I don't love the single, but the video elevates it a bit.

Managed to get great tickets :disco:

I just wish she was doing another Christmas show as well.

What a fantastic gig for her. And she'll fit it so well.

I imagine any remaining tickets for her tour will get sold pretty sharpish afterwards, as well.
