Norway 2025: Kyle Alessandro - Lighter

Agreed that I'm not really sure doing multiple nights of meh average quality is the best way, when they can likely easily put together one night and really make it pop.

Exactly, I really don’t get why they continue to insist dragging it out over 6 weeks just because it’s what they’ve always done.

EDIT: oh this is the Norway thread…

The staging has always been a bit rubbish but I've found the standard of the songs really high across the heats recently; shame they're reducing the number of them.

Some Rumoured Names I've seen floating arond, take with a grain of salt but two or three of these turning out to being right sounds plausible:

Nora Foss Al-Jabri (2nd in Norway NF 2012 with "Somewhere Beautiful")
Tone Damli (2nd in Norway NF 2009 with "Butterflies", also competed in MelFest 2013 with "Hello, Goodbye")
Kyle Alessandro (Finalist in the Norway NF 2023 as part of Umami Tsunami with "Geronimo")
LLL (Norwegian girl band that works with Ben Adams from A1)
Age Sten (Lead singer of Wig Wam who represented Norway in 2005)
Tolou (Norwegian TikTok star)
Lavrans (Norwegian The Voice 2024 alumni and finalist)
Ellen (no idea who this :D Probably someone from some talent show, I don't think it's the one who sang for Eurovision 1975 though)
Mathilde SPZ (Semi-Finalist in the NF last year with "Woman Show" :D )
Didrik Solli-Tangen (Represented Norway in 2010)
Morland (Represented Norway in 2015 with Debrah Scarlett)

The song sounds EXACTLY as you'd imagine, and all the better for it:

Oh, oh, swing swing, from the balcony
Oh, oh, drink drink, dance with destiny
Oh, oh, say say, you’ll come with me
When they play the last song, when they play the last song

It simply MUST win!

It's a very well-produced bunch of songs and there are a few pretty promising ones, but they are all pretty interchangeable for me at the moment except for Bobbysocks (complimentary) and WigWam (derogatory), so I can't quite figure out who the voters will get behind in any major way. I'm sure we can expect a competent performance from Tone so that maybe gives her the edge at the moment and it is a fantastic Carly Rae circa 2015 chorus.

I do love Last Song but I'd say my main issue with it is that it's a wonderful chorus but it's not got quite enough to it as a song to really see it doing all that well at Eurovision - it has bottom five written all over it. In that sense, Hot As Hell In Paradise is probably the better option.
