Name 3 countries in South America you'd like to visit

I really want to visit all continents in my life. I've managed three, and S. America is my next priority.

Ecuador is the only one I really regret not visiting when I went to SA in 2015.

I went to Paraguay for the grand total of two hours, in which I went to McDonald's. It was a fraught couple of hours because it was at the mid-point of the trip, the part when me and my travelling companion were engaged in open psychological warfare.

And it's such a massive country that I may as well say Brazil again too. We tried to cover basically an entire continent in about three months, so I've not been anywhere north of Rio.

I also went to Paraguay for about two/three hours. Cuidad del Este by any chance?

I didn't go to McDonalds, but I did have a beer.

Brazil (the highest % of tops - ZZ to confirm), Colombia and Uruguay. On my last search, apartments to rent in Brazil are quite cheap. SA is totally on my to-do and get-done-by lists for sure.

Correct! Maybe I should have just drowned my sorrows with a beer too. I don't remember much about the place other than walking across a big bridge.

I'm another member of the three-hour Ciudad del Este club. What a dump but we all only went for one reason.

You don't even get a stamp in your passport to show for it. What a swizz.
Actually you should... we didn't on the way out of Brazil (as we'd heard we didn't need to) and then they caused lots of fuss at the border when we tried to get back in. After making us wait for half an hour with lots of stern faces and clucking they eventually let us go.

I tried, they refused. :D

This was quite a few years ago now to be fair.

I didn't bother with Ciudad del Este despite it being RIGHT THERE and I have regrets. So:

Paraguay!!
Uruguay (also didn't bother with this despite it being RIGHT THERE)
Ecuador

I would echo others when saying that places like Brazil (and also Colombia for me) necessitate further exploration. Patagonia, similarly vast, is the place that my heart most longs to return to. There aren't enough adjectives in my lexicon to do it justice, and I was at such peace at that point in time that I've told friends here to scatter my ashes off Tierra del Fuego when I'm DONE. :disco: I'd recommend it to anyone - do ALL the treks and hikes that you possibly can, it's fucking magical and incomparable and I hate that I just waltzed through at typically-breakneck speed instead of devoting the requisite time to savour it more thoroughly.
