Is it true Disney DEBUNKED this picture deeming it FAKE then?

So it turns out this is the love interest's own little gang of seven šŸ„“

Is this expected to overcome the backlash and bad reviews, and become a box office HIT?

I see that Cineworld at the O2 has TWENTY SIX showings tomorrow, so if you turn up and the one you were planning to go to has sold out :eyes: it might only be 10 minutes until the following one

Itā€™s tracking to open with about 40m in the US - thatā€™s poor but not catastrophic (albeit the number has been lowering all week) but without strong legs it is going to lose money. Itā€™s about the same as Joker 2 opened with, but while SW was not expected to open with 100m like Joker was - SW was even more expensive to make.

Which begs the question, how does a Disney film made largely on green screen cost the best part of 300m

Disney and Marvel budgets are totally out of control. it's insane. and the money is never there on-screen.

it's opening on par with Dumbo which eventually made $350m globally. and still lost money on a budget of half that.

if Snow White's budget was really $240-270m... they would be needing upwards of 750m to make a profit. who really thought THIS film would be THAT girl? they're all ON THE GAK.

I know it is a decade ago, but Disney made Cinderella for 90m and it made 550m. Has production really got that much more expensive or is it mismanagement?

Whatā€™s coming out on Easter weekend? If thereā€™s nothing else, it might have been worth waiting.
A Minecraft Movie is out on the 4th, easter weekend has precious little apart from a Mr. Poppers Penguins ripoff with Steve Coogan.

I donā€™t really know what Iā€™m comparing here but Companion had a budget of TEN MILLION so why did this manage to get to $250m

Itā€™s just crazy. Companion doesnā€™t look cheap or low budget. It looks superb!

Feels like once you get into constant reshoots your budgets fucked?

Just got back from seeing this. While not an UNMITIGATED DISASTER or anything, it was only passable at best & WHOLLY UNNECESSARY. I'm AGOG at the figures for the budget. It doesn't look like it cost anywhere near that! Also a couple of the dwarves seemed a bit MINCY to me :RuGlasses:

That international number is atrocious.

Imagine how unappealing youā€™d have to be to fail to break through when youā€™re a member of that cursed dynasty!

I love the way he says that all those blue collar workers have been hurt because they needed the film to be successful. Itā€™s not like the people who built the sets are getting a percentage of the gross.

Thatā€™s my issue with his statement. The only people hurt by it are people getting paid on the backend. The grunt workers are already paid out and on to other jobs.

why did his dad have to fly across the country? doesn't he have FACETIME on one of his many PHONES?

And as if he wasn't flying across country ANYWAY. He must do that most weeks?

He's a Disney exec, not some little old babushka forced to leave the boundaries of her village for the first time
