Really we should all be very grateful that the X Factor is no more, because the frightful BIG BAND WEEK would surely have proven one temptation too far for Madame Monster

Equally we would have got a live performance of this, probably in a GIANT BATH :disco:

On the actual AbraKedavra song - whilst it's the most fun she's been in a long time, I think I actually preferred this teaser to the final version. The full edit feels a tiny smidge less intense and a tad smidge more fun-for-Drag-Race.

But alas it would also have become a duet with a spotty Scottish lad that Louis Walsh EVIL would declare the young Eddi Reader, and the synths would be replaced by trombones

And the bath would have become the base for a comedy interview with one of the ITV ghastlies. Probably Stephen Mulhern in briefs with a rubber duck. She'd never return to the UK again.

Any time I hear this I can’t get the AI comment someone made here out of my head because now that it’s been said it does seem very applicable and feasible (I know it’s not though).

I can see that this is getting traction on social media (even in my own VERY limited view of them), so I hope it's a hit for her.
I haven't particularly liked it, but it's much more immediate than many of her previous efforts in the past years, so I would still be happy if it reached previous highs of hers.

Where did 'Disease' peak? 7?

Got to imagine this will do better? Especially given the time of year...

The only problem is it's been released half way through the week which doesn't help, but if it holds up and has legs then yes it will almost certainly end up being a bigger success

omg I am queening out over this song tonight. it's made me excited about Gaga again. Disease was good but I was worried she had nothing bigger in store. this is brilliant. I love how the song has two distinct verse parts, a full bridge, a nonsense chorus, a breakdown, and a middle 8 with an opera part. this is songwriting! :disco: pop has become too enthralled to Eurovision song lengths.

the song reminds me obviously of Scheisse a bit, but also Physical by Dua. the production is so euphoric where it needs to be. Cirkut did almost every song on the album from the credits I saw. Poor Ava! He upgraded to the real thing :disco:

it gained 1 million more streams on its second day than on the first on Spotify which is usually a good sign of a hit! :disco:

i am GAGGED at how she outdid her former self in both dance and performance in the music video. the video is astounding, and it's also cause she directed it. every video she's directed has been fab: Judas, Marry The Night, G.U.Y, and now Abracadabra.

the editing is really good. the long tracking shots that allow you to actually follow the dancers without constant cuts and headache edits. music videos really don't do that anymore. very rewatchable. love the vaguely Fincher-esque feeling of the set that kinda harks back to both Alejandro and the Chromatica Ball brutalism aesthetic...

on another note, I read somewhere on X that the mobs that drive her crazy and make her scream towards the end of the music video are supposed to be the Little Monsters. :BList:

watching the music video with that in mind is a bit disturbing. it almost feels like Abracadabra is not just a song; the hook that follows Abracadabra is a spell to quiet down the power bottoms who won't stop yelling at Gags upon stumbling upon her on the streets of Malibu "GAGA give us another Bad Romance!!! (or Artpop/Judas/etc.)" it must be exhausting having to hear that same damn sentence every day of your life. mind you, half of Chromatica was about how fucking miserable she was because of fame. broken heart emoji.

It's so wild that I remember seeing Bailey in a small supporting role in the fabulous BBC comedy W1A, and thinking he was so beautiful. And now he's co-lead in a Jurassic Park movie!

but is it gay crack as ABRACADABRA¡??

Mopsy installing secret links to force people into Gaga threads. What is the world coming to.

My inner monologue all day has been the following two phrases on repeat…

“Abracadabraabracadabbbbrrraaaaa…”

and

“From penis to vagiinnaaaaaaaaaa”
