Just Instagram & Reddit. I've never regretted deleting Facebook & I've been clean for 5 years now

I deleted Facebook around a year ago and don’t miss a thing from it. I have Instagram but rarely go on it anymore. The only one I use (I don’t post) is TikTok.

Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I look at all quite frequently, but haven't posted on any for quite some time.

I don't ever post on anything, but I use twitter (and blue sky, add it for he poll please) to follow news and memes. Bluesky is still way too earnest for my liking, a touch of toxicity will do it a world of good.

I'm on all/most of these to be honest but the ones I use regularly/semi-pathologically are Instagram and TikTok.
I like linkedIn for comedy value

I have the classics (Insta, FB, Twitter + BlueSky)

I barely use any of them. FB and Insta are fine for sharing a nice day out or holiday, but that's it really. It's basically holiday snaps.

Twitter is still the best when there's breaking news although that's now heavily diluted with complete and utter shite.

I also have Reddit, but have never ever posted on it. It's a useful source for most things, although ChatGPT is quickly catching up, as Google becomes increasingly USELESS.

I just looked on twitter to see when I last posted as I have no idea. And just posted for the first time in however long.

Facebook I last posted my Eurovision scores last year, and on Instagram my last post was of some ponies on Exmoor 3 years ago.

I had Twitter and Snapchat once. Both consigned to history. Twitter because of enshittification, Snapchat because I'm NOT YOUNG.

I have Facebook but only on a technicality at this point. I don't use it. It was useful for birthdays though.

Instagram is where I waste most of my time although I preferred it when it was a photo app. Short form video is so NOISY.

They're all inherently disgusting. Meta is almost as foul as Twitter. That new book from a former FB director tells a story of the algorithm being programed to advertise weight loss pills when a teenage girl deletes a selfie, among other gross stuff (according to Marina Hyde). I hovered over the delete button, but I'm not quite there yet. I want to save all my photos first.

Instagram. but I'm not usually an endless doom scroller. I just stop when I get bored or saddened by how hot everyone is.

I also don’t post anywhere anymore. I’ve gotten a lot more reserved about that stuff as I get older.

Deleted Twitter last year and it has been a huge change for the better for me. All I was doing was obsessively doomscrolling.

Replaced with Bluesky which is quieter, but I’ve been a lot more judicious about my follows so for now it’s a much nicer scroll than X was.

Facebook I keep for family connections and cute pictures of my godchildren only.

Instagram I use primarily to promote my pub quizzes, with an alt account for perving on hot guys.

TikTok strictly for NSFW content (watching, not creating)

LinkedIn I have purely as a live CV. I occasionally view the timeline with a combination of grim fascination and cold horror. Maybe it’s because of the industries I’ve worked in, but it seems to be populated almost entirely by bizarre pod people having the same exact 3 conversations in perpetuity.

The variety of stuff I look at on my phone is massively reduced these days. There's so much more, but I care LESS AND LESS.

I actively like Instagram. But waste too much time on it.

I still have FB and occasionally scroll, but I think I’m going to get rid.

Twitter I’ve stopped posting on but still scroll for athletics stuff. Trying to get onto Bluesky for that but it’s not really sticking.

I am on LinkedIn and I do post, but I make a real effort to make it silly and not the usual shire. Also, it’s fucking toxic in my industry and I just want to punch people lots, so that’s nice.

Facebook to keep in touch with friends.

Tiktok has some good stuff on it once the algorithm learns about you. And plenty of just easy watching.

Twitter can fuck off (which hasn't changed before and after Musk) and I do not and will never get Instagram. If I wanted to look at pictures I'd read the argos catalogue.

I suppose I do occasionally look at linkedin but in my line of work I need to keep abreast of what's going on in the my industry.

TikTok is a step too far for me. If someone sends me a post I'll probably enjoy it. I'm totally at ease with the fact I don't care for it or even want to try to immerse myself into it. I'm closer to 60 than 20, I know my place.

Facebook for memes and news
TikTok for if someone sends me a link
Twitter for news while filtering through the shite
Bluesky to be the anti-twitter but it's really not sticking
Reddit for interesting takes on niche topics like something I used to watch 20 years ago, or the current PlayStation game I'm playing
Insta and LinkedIn just cos but I barely go on them. Trying to used LinkedIn more

I'm quite a bad doomscroller. My latest fixation is clips from Airline, Below Deck and Come Dine With Me

Whereas I used to endlessly flick through the freeview or Sky channels late at night after Mr L went to bed, now it's always YouTube on the TV.

hovered over the delete button, but I'm not quite there yet. I want to save all my photos first.
If it helps there’s an “export all my data” button that puts everything you ever did with your account in handy zip file. Although they seem to be making that button harder and harder to find.

I have Facebook and Instagram on my work laptop and I’m really quite surprised how much I don’t miss it being it on my phone. I’ve just kept it on a laptop because some businesses I follow use it to highlight events related to booze or mountain bikes I can’t afford.

Will nip into Reddit on my phone, but never the homepage or app as algorithms can go fuck themselves. Just some subs I’m interested in.

Same. I'm more likely to stumble over something, nay multiple things to watch.

I had no idea TikTok served an NSFW option!!?? I just use it for memes and viral pop song sharts (not that kind )

I've deactivated my Facebook and Instagram (and Twitter, which I never posted on anyway but which I used to doomscroll). I still use Instagram for my book club but only as the browser version when I need to.

I have a LinkedIn that I scroll but don't actively use. I read Reddit but don't really post.

So better than I thought.

I really feel like I need to delete my FB and Instagram just to be sure, but am conscious that I still use messenger and I have so many photos on Instagram stored for years. Granted, they're probably all on my phone, but I liked that my page was mostly fields and sea sunset photos. It was the grid and recommended part that made me miserable.

Oh God…

NSFW was probably a misleading term. I genuinely barely use Tiktok, I just keep a dead account because sometimes hot guys who post thirst traps on Insta also post slightly different (usually just more irritating TBH) thirst traps on Tiktok.

I did not mean to imply that I’m watching amateur porn stars getting railed in between the latest viral clip of Kendall Jenner doing the whip nae nae or whatever the current craze might be. :D

Instagram: not active outside of stories, which is only because I love posting music alongside them.

Facebook: it's an AI troll junkyard of images deliberately doctored or with information purposefully incorrect and it's beyond grim when scrolling without thinking and seeing it. Loathe being friend requested - I'd much rather be added on instagram. Facebook feels completely extinct.

I love Instagram. I do all my shopping on there too. I've trained that algorithm bitch to recommend me the products/styles I like. And sometimes you get Instagram exclusive discounts too.
