Super achey from pushing a wheelchair around London. Fab day though.

I've had a blocked/ runny nose for weeks now. London has fully cemented that issue.

It’s a glorious day here. Went out for a long walk about 9, killed ourselves and am now knackered on the sofa, waiting for Mr Sheena to start cooking roast pork which we won in a meat raffle on Friday night!

I was hungover yesterday but despite another night out last night, I’ve swerved it today.

It was weird drinking yesterday. I had wine with lunch in Soho, a drink at the theatre, then we headed straight home instead of the normal post show drinks. I supped wine on the train, and then got shitfaced in the evening.

Also Piccadilly Circus is one of the worst places in London. Almost as intolerable as Leicester Square.

I love drinking in London, but being responsible for another human kept my worst instincts at bay. I was well behaved on the train, literally just supping, probably no more than a 1/6 of the bottle. Although to make it really classy, I was sat on the floor.

Note to @lolly , this is the sort of useful competition your partner should be entering and winning.

I do love the sheer Britishness of a meat raffle.

Especially if you win a BREAKFAST PACK :disco:

How can I win a meat raffle without having to go to a pub?

I’ve never heard of a meat raffle. Is sounds quite delightful.

It used to be a real Sunday tradition at our local- easily drew a full house every week. The new landlord has stopped it though for some weird reason so the pub next door has started one and we all decamp there from the local on Fridays especially for it. There’s another pub round the corner that does one on a Sunday at 5 and that’s always really popular too. Cries of “fix” and “same old faces” abound when the regulars win and there’s always a particularly ropey looking square sausage chosen last at the end as a booby prize.

I’m presuming they are an old traditional English thing everywhere rather than just around here.

Is square sausage the same thing that is a bit of a breakfast delicacy in Scotland?

Yup. Or a southern bastardisation of it.

Often comes in a breakfast pack with bacon and eggs. Occasionally a lone tomato for some reason.

Yes, I am quite partial to a Lorne sausage in a cooked breakfast. For some reason I thought it was unknown down south.

Just been for a little walk around the woods behind the house, and the wild garlic is beginning to come through :disco:

I have just realised tonight is the last in the season of Call the Midwife and I have just been hit by a tinge of sadness.:(

GRIEVE WITH ME @floppet

Knackered my back again. Proper painful. The act that caused this? I was sat cross-legged on a chair and lowered one leg to the floor to roll the chair forward a bit. Something went 'PWING' and I thought "oh shit....". Sure enough, this morning I'm stiffer than Moopy looking a pictures of J from 5ive.

For reason that really made me laugh - as a Scottish person I find it VERY easy to envisage that!

Oooh good tip! Love a wild garlic pesto :disco:
The patch here is very small at the moment, and the leaves no bigger than 5 - 10cm, and the leaf i did pick was very mild. I made a note to check again later in the week to pick a batch big enough to do something with.

Although to be honest, at the moment they would be lovely to pad out a salad or add to a sandwich. Just not really strong enough to give the punch of flavour you would want in most recipes.

There’s a forest here with LOOOOOADS when it gets going. We normally make a day of it and come back with a few bags full. Wild garlic cream soup 😍

I got given a big bag last year and tbh was SICK OF THE SIGHT of it by the end!

Need to drag some people

I only ever encountered them in the Outback, I thought they were an Aussie thing but I guess its just another one of our fine cultural exports.
