Back That Up To The Beat - the new viral TikTok shart hit

It's more than a bit shit, isn't it?

It sounds like it was recorded on one of those old little tape recorders that you had to attach a microphone to, to be able to hear your voice.

I'd much rather they put the Madame X version on Spotify.

This is great, top tier Pharrell but the vocal is ATROCIOUS :D like, MDNA levels of bad.

This isn’t actually going to be a (relatively small but) hit is it?

I noticed Bloody Mary would have been easily top 40 if it weren’t for Christmas songs last/this week, so…

I guess the streaming figures tomorrow will reveal a lot.

she's sounded much worse!

it is what it is - a demo that sounds like a cute idea for a song. I expected worse honestly. there is something quite hypnotic about it and the production and gregorian backing vox are fun.

Yeah it’s actually quite great as a little oddity. Perfect « B side » material in old money. Which makes the whole viral TikTok thing even more intriguing…

This has 3,000 listens on Spotify so far :eyes:
Apparently that was only Australia and New Zealand?

According to ukmix

DEMO VERSION

Fri, 30/12/22: 139,502 *incl. the first 3,111 streams from AU/NZ*

SPED UP VERSION

Fri, 30/12/22: 95,571 *incl. the first 2,405 streams from AU/NZ*

I mean the numbers are still hardly GREAT though - the global #1 the day before (SZA's Kill Bill) had 6.220m streams, and the #200 had 962k.

I don't mind the demo version, in fact I very much liked it, but the sped up one is three minutes and twelve seconds of my life that I'll never get back.
