GERI HALLIWELL has split from her Italian fiancé less than three months after getting engaged.
The former Ginger Spice, 36, enjoyed a whirlwind romance with shipping tycoon FABRIZIO POLITI.

The couple met in a nightclub in Florence in December and over Christmas in Italy he asked her to marry him.

But the relationship crashed after Geri — according to a source — “woke up one morning last week and decided she just wasn’t the marrying type”.

The insider added: “She loved being in a relationship but decided that all she needs is her daughter Bluebell to keep her happy.

“Fabrizio is upset but totally respects Geri’s wishes.

“Her friends are not surprised — Geri has a track record for getting cold feet.”

Fabrizio, 34, employs 300 people in Pisa building luxury boats for his firm Fashion Yachts.

The couple issued a statement in January confirming the engagement — with a get-out clause.

Her management company 19 said then: “There are no immediate plans for marriage, the couple are enjoying the engagement.”

Geri, whose Spice Girl hits include 2 Become 1 and Wannabe, has a poor romantic record.

She did not last the distance with radio DJ CHRIS EVANS, singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS nor scriptwriter SACHA GERVASI — the dad of her two-year-old daughter.

Geri last year admitted: “I can be fickle. One minute I think somebody is the love of my life, the next I don’t. I have commitment issues.”

She said in another interview: “So many people get divorced — why effing bother.

“I’d love to find my soulmate and think, ‘Oh my God’. But that man would have to add something to my life.”

It's definitely time for another self-indulgent documentary although I fear that ship has sailed with the Spice Girls reunion

She'll also be featured on a BBC special next week called "Queens Of British Pop", as one of the 6 female artists with the biggest impact on the British music scene (from the 80's till today). The others are Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Kylie, Alison Moyet and Leona Lewis. Melanie C fans are FURIOUS already. :D

I just watched that Queens Of British Pop thing and it really was QUITE INTERESTING

I mean, as IF they'd have MENLY C on it. What is there to SAY about her? Nothing AT ALL. She isn't even a DYKE like old DUSTERS

I would love to meet Geri Halliwell, but i still like to think that i'm not the type of person who would buy a book aimed at 5 year old girls just to meet an ex Spice Girl.

Are there any hilarious reports of her treating the older freak fans with contempt, like last time Halli?
 
Apparently she was lovely this time. That's just the thing - she's temperamental! To be honest she puts the MENTAL in temperamental.

As much as I'm a Spice Loon, I'd be FAR too self-concious to meet any of them at a signing.

Also I'd be terrified that I'd say something to make Geri freak out or cry. Like, yknow, "Hi."

Halliwell enjoys ski break with new boyfriend

Geri Halliwell has been photographed holidaying with a new boyfriend, just weeks after ending her engagement to shipping tycoon Fabrizio Politi.

Photographs published in the Daily Mail show the 36-year-old enjoying a romantic break in the French Alps with London aristocrat Henry Beckwith and her two-year-old daughter Bluebell.

Halliwell and Beckwith, who is the cousin of socialite Tamara, were reportedly spotted taking skiing lessons and sharing public displays of affection at the Courchevel resort.

The couple were first seen together last month, and are reported to have shared their first date at Scott's restaurant in Mayfair sometime later.

Halliwell split from Politi in March, following a whirlwind romance. Earlier this month, Politi admitted that he was disappointed that the relationship had failed, saying: "I had been looking for a beautiful woman to settle down with and start a family, and I thought in Geri I had finally found that person."

The singer has previously dated DJ Chris Evans, Robbie Williams, dancer Ivan Velez and writer Sacha Gervasi, who is Bluebell's father.
