Yes, they've caved in. Seems like a lifetime ago Corrie was dominating Eastenders.Does that mean that neither of them will be scheduled directly against EastEnders now?

Yes. Emmerdale 8pm, Corrie 8:30pm, Monday-Friday.Does that mean that neither of them will be scheduled directly against EastEnders now?
That makes it more interesting from a competition perspective then - it could really level things out between those three. It’s usually Emmerdale that is scheduled against Eastenders in the UK I think so I don’t think Corries viewing figures will grow.
The problem seems to be that the audience drop seems fo have levelled out. So I don't see what incentive there is to make it better.
It's interesting that almost everything I've seen about it recently on social media in the last few weeks regarding axed characters, the size of the cast and storylines has been overwhelmingly negative. I'm intrigued to see if that filters through in terms of viewing figures. I suspect it won't make much difference after all. The audience it has left watch it just because it's on rather than massively engaging with it.
And the only tweet I've seen about that is this oneFor sure. I am one of those people that if I am at home it will be on the tv more as background noise than anything else. Last nights episode did grab my attention for the first time in a while with the house fire at The Platts.

Last time I watched this properly, David Platt and Chesney were kids
Now they're what, I think I more or less grew up with them so 40s? Yet they still somehow look about 12 but with a bit more facial hair and chub respectively (and respectfully)
Ches looks like he could still pass off as the Hovis kid
Could do with access to this fountain of youth as mine is wearing off!!
This storyline with Rob and Carla is a new low for Corrie. Whoever wrote Monday's episode, when he escaped from the hospital and they took Carla hostage, needs sacking!
I didn't mind Eva too much.
I've never got the appeal of Daisy though. She's so miserable - I don't think I've seen her smile once.
