Dua Lipa — Radical Optimism (2 Viewers)

Future Nostalgia entered at #4 with 66k so it wouldn't be her highest sales debut. but 55k+ still has to be better than expected

her promo is very on point - Times Square show yesterday

Training Season
Houdini
Happy For You
Illusion

love that she's dressed like she's just been vintage shopping in a coat that gives her a great excuse not to move much :disco:

my current best to worst

HOUDINI
Happy For You
End of an Era
Illusion
Maria
Training Season
French Exit
Whatcha Doin
Anything For Love
These Walls
Falling Forever

don't think These Walls will do much, it's the wrong single choice - she's also promoting Happy For You over it so why not release that instead

Now that :WhiffOfMisogyny: is dead and buried, can we campaign to have the next Mopsy smilie be :givemenothing: ?

You're all fools, of course Dua could nail that awful Falling Forever intro with no struggle. And whoever said it they're right, it's a Gaga song through and through :D

^She usually has impeccable taste in clothes and always looks great but I don’t get why she’s wearing a white corset under a sheer black dress. It looks like she’s wearing a white thong, especially with the black skirt part so low. She’s always so good with her clothes, I wonder what went wrong ?

I don't think week one was ever in doubt, not with 12 different vinyl editions.

I must be listening to a different Falling Forever to the last few of you. It’s such an obvious standout to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love Dua's voice when she's in her soul/jazz fragment but I don't see the need to have 20 backing vocalists when clearly she can carry the songs on her own.

A Cleo Sol cover :disco: an inspired choice from one of the best albums of the 20s so far !

Oh this is very nice!

The weight of her voice adds a bit of depth you don’t get from Cleo’s version, but it’s great nonetheless.

interesting but maybe not surprising that Houdini and Training Season came from the same studio session

massive result in the UK. also totally overperformed in the US and blew the earlier estimates of 55k out the water

#1 debuts in France with 20k sold and the Netherlands. the flop era is looking quite healthy :disco:

It’s been too long since I looked at sales figures for the UK - the biggest uk female sales for years and … 46k. I mean it’s all relative but Christ

in news unlikely to surprise anyone I'm now completely obsessed with this album. every song hits, the hooks are revealing themselves gorgeously, every day a new fave. currently very into These Walls and I think I was wrong, it's a solid single choice.

only Falling Forever doesn't quite fit. the verses are great but that chorus a touch too shouty and doesn't make sense with the soundscape of the album.

09 End of an Era
11 Houdini
09 Training Season
09 These Walls
08.5 Whatcha Doing
08 French Exit
10 Illusion
07.5 Falling Forever
08 Anything For Love
09 Maria
10 Happy For You

Ok fuck y'all. I love Falling Forever. It's clearly way too vocally ambitious for her but I LOVE the energy.

If anything, I would've expected Moopy to love it. It's got a Euro pop feel to it.

FF isn’t a bad song but it doesn’t really suit her vocal ability and sounds like a Lady Gaga castoff
