Football 24-25

I see a player for West Ham has been in a terrible car accident. Hopefully he is alright. :(

United's best performance under Amorim - soldi will be happy with that :disco: United really should have won though. Liverpool weren't at full tilt at all.

Yep, it’s a shame Maguire didn’t score that sitter right at the end. Genuinely encouraging though, which means we’ll probably lose the next five games.

Everton, in a move which can only be described as ‘very Evertony’, have sacked their manager just over three hours before a game kicks off.

at the end of a month in which they got draws from City, Arsenal and Chelsea! I feel bad for him. that said they've scored 15 goals in 20 league games and they're fucking dull to watch.

Palace are having such a lovely run. From being in relegation spots, they're up to 12th. No defeats in five games :disco:

What the sweet fuck happened to Manchester United? (I literally only track Palace).

And NOTTINGHAM FOREST 3RD? What is this? 1989? (RIP THE 96)

Liverpool being on track to drop more points this week only for fucking Darwin Nuñez to get a double in stoppage time. thanks, I hate it.

PSG recovered from 2 nil down to beat City 4-2

:WellThereWeAre:
beautiful!

and Arsenal won a totally boring 3-0 affair vs Zagreb to place third in the "league" with one game still to play next week.

as it stands clubs who'll finish in the 9th-24th spots and play an extra tie to make the round of 16 include Villa, Dortmund, Bayern, Madrid, PSG, Sporting, and City if they make it through at all (currently 25th). the new format has actually been quite interesting (enhanced by some bigger clubs having horrible form).

JOINT SECOND HACTUALLY.

I keep waiting for it to go tits up but we're actually QUITE GOOD
you've spent a lot of money to be this good! the team is quality defensively albeit not scoring tons of goals. a classic sit back, defend, counter attacking outfit.

these half-time champions league scorelines

Girona 1-2 Arsenal
PSV 3-2 Liverpool
Man City 0-1 Club Brugge

Arsenal scored twice in four minutes. PSV scored two in extra time. and City really are shit. :disco:

I’m still expecting City to pull it back.

City have indeed turned it around to qualify for the playoffs. However, if none of the other matches change in injury time, City will play Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, which probably isn’t what they were hoping for.

Scores for Liverpool & the Arse remained the same after half time. They qualify in 1st & 3rd respectively.

Good effort from Club Brugge (upskirt) - shame they couldn't pull off the upset to send City out so I could be all :WellThereWeAre:

that Arsenal game was one of the most low stakes I've ever seen. it was so boring from the off. Sterling is a terrible footballer, he's lost it.

seems like most of the games tonight were fun though, I've liked this "league" stage and some of the top 8 / avoiding playoffs are pretty surprising names - Lille, Villa... the playoffs should also be fun with so many big clubs in there.

electric performance from Arsenal tonight. we took almost every big chance we had and the speed of the play was so much faster than it has been. so easy to turn City over. I do believe at our best we're a stronger team than Liverpool and that we'll go on a run now and win about 12 or 13 of the next 14. it will hurt when we don't win the league :( :D

Delighted to Palace climbing up to their standard position of 12th, after beating Manchester United.

As a Liverpool fan, I'm hoping to God that doesn't happen :D however I did enjoy City being put FIRMLY IN THEIR PLACE

Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri goals … I feel like a proud parent

OT: What are people’s thoughts on the Club World Cup this year? It’s obviously being pushed super hard with the new expanded edition and my work is basically revolving around it for the next six months, but I’ve not heard anyone in “real” life even mention it. I’m curious- are people here actually interested?

I’m also debating moving to the US for a month for it, but we’ll see.
