Girls Aloud NOT ON TOUR NOW

Great news etc and no shade intended and I’m sure they’ve done the market research but isn’t that a slightly over ambitious itinerary? I’m not that familiar with their previous UK tour track record so maybe I’m speaking out of turn..

They were always a popular touring act I believe? They seemed to fill the larger venues more reliably than the Sugababes and the Saturdays, at any rate.

I suppose I would have expected them to hold off on announcing the additional dates in those few cities until they saw how the first ones sold, but I don't think it's overly ambitious

yeah they'll sell out these dates no complaints.

They were a big touring act, much more than their album sales would let on. 32 dates for the Out of Control tour and 20 for TEN. All arenas apart from the one supporting their STU and WWNS

They’ve even got a big O2 shaped space there at the end to announce more dates if they need them- and I wouldn’t be surprised if they do.

I think we're going to try and go to Birmingham as it's the only date we can do unless they add more!

Interesting that it's called "The Girls Aloud Show" - almost as if they don't quite feel like calling themselves Girls Aloud without Sarah.

So I’ve followed this on/off but can someone elaborate or confirm - are this lot legitimately friends with Nadine now or still “co-workers”?

It feels like there has been a significant amount of progress (Cheryl and Nadine in particular seem to be on much better terms).

Any idea of support acts?

Mae Muller would be a nice surprise

I initially read it as "Girls Aloud - The Show" (as in the song). But it clearly isn;t.

I agree with octy. 'The Girls Aloud Show' sounds like a musical production touring provincial theatres.
Featuring 3 people who entered various iterations of The X Factor/Pop Idol and 2 soap "stars".

So happy that they'll be recognising the pop culture moments that are "walking primrose" and "take a walk on the wild side". What a blaze of glory.

Why did I have to Google “take a walk on the wild side girls aloud” to see what song it was in

I was listening to the greatest hits in preparation for the announcement of the worst kept secret in pop, and I was struck by how sorely missed Sarah's vox would be in the mix. She really gave the group a much needed bit of GRAVEL and WELLY (those are technical terms, yes).

KIMBA must be loving the thought of getting a few more lines to sing in 2024 that aren’t middle eights.

The Nicola demo of On the Metro is quite the bitchy disco sister to Nadine's batshit Something New demo:

Leak the Sarah solos now please (plus the Richard X one)!
