There are some good songs at the top of the pile, but I think I forget them due to the overwhelming STENCH of all the clunkers/clinkers.

Could be better but I do definitely prefer it to 2024.

To be honest the only entries I actively dislike are Serbia, Croatia, Estonia and the United Kingdom ( :( )

So far it’s shit. There’s just too much middling MEH.

There are some very high highs, so no!
It’s the joke entry pileup which is becoming a concerning trend for the contest in general.

There’s lots I like, and the complete lack of competitive songs makes it very interesting for the first time in ages! The only song I could even slightly imagine as a winner atm is Czechia, and that would involve absolutely everything coming together.

Agreed. It’s tiresome, especially with the most exhausting parts of the fandom rallying behind these entries. Hopefully, it blows over soon.

It’s a balance that I don’t think they’ll ever get entirely right. Too much novelty and professional artists start to disengage. But the juries were such notorious fun suckers who facilitated worthy crap like Azerbaijan, Switzerland and Australia clogging up the finals in 2022.

I definitely don’t miss the juries in the semis pushing through any ballad with a competent vocal despite there being zero televoting appeal. The fact that the public are not all that taken by the likes of Finland and Estonia 2024 come the final means it’s not really a big problem either IMO

Last night did improve things, but there really isn't enough worth throwing myself on a FUNERAL PYRE for. It being a relatively open year though does feel quite interesting. I suspect that means the juries will decide it.

It's a dog egg for me. I can't see myself ever listening to the majority of these entries outside of this year with the exception of Denmark, Netherlands and Germany.

There are way too many novelty entries or songs that sound very dated. We are lacking the usual 2 or 3 high quality entries that would be hard to overlook in any top 5. Those usual strong entries have been replaced by the likes of Finland, Estonia and Sweden. Even the Italian entry isn't the best this year and will be easily forgotten.

At the moment the only song I can see winning is Austria and that doesn't exactly fill me with excitement.

I really hope we get something decent from France or Israel but judging by the title of the Israeli song, I think that may be wishful thinking.

In answer to the question, I'm not sure yet. I'll let you know after we get a sense of the performances (rehearsals are no longer officially filmed right?)

That being said there is sone AWFUL SHIT. It was looking so promising after the first big Saturday.

Listening to the playlist on the train home it does feel a bit better. I think a lot of my apathy towards the lineup was because I assumed Måns was going to ruin everything :D

I’ve traditionally been in favour of there not being a clear favourite as it means an open year, but in 2025 presumably that just tips it more in favour of Israel or Ukraine.

Anyway yes I’m glad we have Sweden to add to the (small) list of songs I actively enjoy, but there’s quite a hefty layer of mid at the moment which I’m sure will grow on me but I probably won’t ever listen to after the contest.

Very little from 2024 has had staying power.

Right now my favourites are Laika Party and Kant, and as much as I enjoy them, neither would've touched my top 3 last year (Nemo, Baby Lasagna and Bambie, though the latter wasn't cemented in my top 3 until the performance), and I think that lack of one or two entries that I'm REALLY behind is what's holding this year back for me.

I don't think it is that bad but would argue what hurt this year is a few of the choices where the televote favourites in National Finals got overruled by the jury. And the end result is a lot of sleeping pills getting picked.

We missed out on stuff like Henka in Portugal, Bojana x David/Harem Girls in Serbia and Ogenj in Croatia which would have added a bit more fun, variety and energy to their semis.

Now that we’ve rounded off the season with France being totally whelming and Spain‘s infuriating revamp that sounds like it was done by 7th Heaven on an off day, I’m happy to confirm my answer is YES.

It's saved for me by having 10 solid entries and 4 strong francophone entries within that (of which France is, surprisingly, the weakest).
