This is great and all, but I did expect it to shift more than DISCO first week what with the build up of SINGALS

Hold On To Now in at #81 as well, at least making an appearance.

Fab week all around, just slight shame PP didn’t increase enough for a reset and a shift back into the top 40.

Looking like it * might * debut at #20 on the Billboard 200 with approximately 24k sales (an increase of 5k over Disco).

I've been working away and managed to listen a few times, a bit delayed but the results from the Halli-Jury a week in

10 Padam Padam - Majestic, perfect, infectious and the obvious lead single, one of her career highlights in terms of moments.
09 Hold on To Now - Exactly the sort of thing Kylie should be doing now, lead single if there was no Padam, although wouldn't have caused half the splash. The 'Say Something' of this album
10 Things We Do for Love - The Initial standout for me. That chorus is so infectious. I hope this gets some kind of release treatment. Couldn't help but sing Gabrielle's Should I Stay? during that bit when I first listened.
09 Tension - I am glad they went with this for second single. Its an xenomania sounding mish mash of songs that works, and quite a statement for Kylie to release at this stage. The Oh My God parts are a highlight for me that bridge the song together.
07 One More Time - This is the first lul for me, basic Kylie and sounds album filler. Still decent. But I hear this really grows.
07 You Still Get Me High - Back to a nice Europhobic sound, we are still not at the standard of the first 4 tracks for me.
06 Hands - I wasn't expecting this kind of track on the album. Catchy but fluffy. Fun for Barbie. Album track. If that. Sounds like filler for 'X' - i think this is the only track i'd GET RID
08 Green Light - Now I have heard people rave about this one or totally slate it. I really like it. This sounds like it should be on Disco. Very 'Real Groove'
09 Vegas High - Kylie doing what Kylie can do on autopilot, back to more pop melodies, love.
07 10 out of 10 - This sounds better fitted into the album. Not my fave but I can see why she included it in a body of work.
09 Story - We are back up to splendidness. Mature, different to the rest of the album, great vocals and production. Haunting energy.
07 Love Train - Fun for the deluxe. This will be great for a real camp live performance on tour.
08 Just Imagine - Very nice, catchy, more emotive like Story. That's all.
08 Somebody to Love - As with Just Imagine, a good solid track, not up there with the first part of the album, good deluxe extra.

From Music Week

Kylie was the youngest female solo artist to have a No.1 when aforementioned first album Kylie topped the list in July 1988 (a record now held by Billie Eilish) and it is a mark of her enduring popularity that with Tension the 55-year-old Australian is now the third oldest to have a No.1 of new material, behind Barbra Streisand, 74 when she topped with Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway in 2016; and Shania Twain, who was 57 when she reached No.1 earlier this year with Queen Of Me (Vera Lynn was 92 when she topped the chart with We’ll Meet Again: The Very Best Of in 2009, but all the recordings on that were more than 60 years old at that point).

Kylie has the biggest span of No.1s of any female solo artist and the only one to have had a No.1 album in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. The only women to have more No.1 albums are Madonna (12, including Evita) and Taylor Swift (10), while the only act not from the UK or USA to have had more No.1s is Abba (10). Kylie has now had 20 Top 10 albums, and 32 Top 75 albums. The only woman to have more Top 10 albums is Madonna, with 23. The last time an album by a woman older than Kylie had a higher weekly sale was just before Christmas 2010, when Annie Lennox, then just a few days shy of her 56th birthday, sold 56,775 copies of A Christmas Cornucopia, as it climbed 18-16.

What about South America isn't she 'massive' over there. Although they do loon over any artist that goes there

I think so (I'm sure a bulk of her streaming comes from that part of the world) but I'm not sure where the official charts are published.

omg
i have cry
melly c rocking in rio

Unless you hold lana at gun point at an airport forcing her to sing 24 hours into your phone, you may well have to hand it your passport, I've been told.

56,000 people bought THAT Annie Lennox Christmas album in its first week?!

It says it climbed so it was not its first week, I thought that too but it was the days of the huge sales on christmas week for any ALBAM in the top 20

So what's people's problem with Hands? Or are y'all being ungrateful cunts again? It's a bit early 2000s-tinny, but it's at least a 7/10 for me.

I think "Tension" is my favorite song on the album. Padam is great, but Tension's chorus is kinkier, and I like my Kylie FILTHY.

You Still Get Me High is the latest one to emerge for me... a lot of the dance pop ones sound very similar but I had a moment to this one earlier.

Somebody To Love still my favourite song from the album by a mile though.

I'm so wistfully nostalgic for the days when the number 16 album could sell 56000 in the Christmas week. :(

I know future singles are moot at this stage but if she were to release Hold Onto Now followed by any of the following: TWDFL/YSGMH/STL - this would honestly rival her Rhythm Of Love singles run for me.

When the sax comes in at the end of You Still Get Me High, it elevates what was already a perfect song to GOD TIER
