Schlagerprofilerna review:
I'm a big fan of creating "new worlds" on stage, taking a break from the balloon-waving kids for at least three minutes. This is a master class in just that. Using large LED walls, they construct a narrow corridor that feels like a mix of The Matrix and a sleazy German gay club. It's intimate, high-tech, and pixelated towards the end, likely prompting moms to shield their kids' eyes to avoid epilepsy.

OMG do we get ‘Effortless’ on Spotify tonight?

Jacqline or Medina MUST win this. Seeing M&M way ahead in the odds is  The song doesn’t even sound THAT good!

Medina feels like the only logical choice left. Effortless just isn't a memorable or unique enough song to stand out in May, and as much as M&M sound fantastic I'm gatekeeping for Sweden and thinking it's a bit weird to have a Norwegian act representing them on home soil.

They sure grow up fast. Feels like it was just yesterday when ASFM launched and @Jacques entered them.

So the Andra Chansen or whatever they’re calling it part is bolted on after tonight’s show as an extra half hour, and I have a hunch it’s going to come across as unnecessarily convoluted especially if you don’t speak the language so basically here is what is going to happen:

  • Lines open for the 10 entries at the beginning of the segment
  • We see the current standings - each song will have a share of 1000 points based on the votes they got in their original heats. Some maths has happened to make this as fair as possible and this counts for 50% of the vote
  • The host chats to all ten artists in the greenroom
  • We see a recap of all 10 songs in heat order, 40 seconds each
  • The lines close
  • The next 1000 points is distributed based on the share of vote they receive tonight, and it’s doled out in the same manner as the televote at Eurovision
  • Once we have one mathematically guaranteed finalist, they will be declared and reprise their entry
  • That will bring us to a head-to-head split screen for the final spot. Once that’s announced, they reprise their entry

Simple. :)

If I could make one recommendation for next year, it would be to have the two commentators shot and their bodies mounted on pikes as a warning to future hosts.

That looked like it cost about five times as much as anything else. The song is fine but didn't go off as much as Air.

The staging just masks how, er, FORGETTABLE the song is.

The trance break as Ag said was good, but it's all a bit style over substance.
