Being behind one of my favourite schlager songs ever is more than enough (think it was a MF-reject). Starts at 200mph with a machine-gun drumbeat and doesn't let up for the whole three minutes!

 
This was a rejected attempt by her - think they went with Jessica Andersson - Horizon in its place so I guess these two gals are taking it in turns

 
AGOG that the genre's LAST STAND and FINAL HOPE is stepping up to the plate, and the so-called OLD TIMERS are mincing their words and questioning whether she's REALLY our gal! :D

Anything Smash (My Backdoor) Into Pieces has recently released has been better than (the clip of) this song. Not that they all don’t sound the same anyway. :disco:

But it isn’t. It’s just the Swedish pop dance we’ve ended up calling schlager because schlager doesn’t really exist any more, at this level at least. Take Me To Your Heaven was schlager, Still Young wasn’t, despite us calling it that.

You’ve also made comment further down I presume aimed at me and I never once said I didn’t like it- the opposite in fact. I’m not saying because it’s not “really schlager” that it isn’t any good so take those poppers and shove them up your flappy old hoop. :)
 
In fairness, if it’s “what we’ve come to know as schlager” then that basically makes it schlager as the definition is so loose and it morphs over time.

Schlager in the 80s sounded totally unrecognisable from schlager in the 60s for example, which is the same amount of time that’s passed since Det gör ont… 😬

My husband has had a gander and thinks:

1. Elisa - possibly one of his favourite entries of all time based on the 30 second clip
2. Melina - could be his favourite of the competition
3. Like Samir and Viktor

the rest he had no comment about

One of tonight's "experts" who will comment on every performance is a total schlager loon. He hates bores, males on stage and rock while dying for any kind of desperate middle-age-looking woman coming back with uptempo and glitter.

 
They could have chosen much, much worse than Schlagerprofilerna-Ronny to be fair. He's one of us. :disco:
