Melodifestivalen 2025: Grand Final (Stockholm)

Måns had a good reaction to not winning but he couldn’t keep that energy up for the press interviews, he made snide comments about let’s see how well KAJ do with the juries in may; he would have done better etc.

John Lundvik says he’s done competing for Sweden and that there are other countries he could compete for who value artistic integrity etc.

Maja ivarsson stormed out and did not come back.

Dolly Style and Meira Omar danced the night away :disco:

I like to assume Maja just wanted to take a leaf out of Marcella's book and ensure she was in bed by midnight. :unbothered:

Also I'm hearing (read one tweet) that KAJ got the most votes EVER :disco:

I’m not happy, and I don’t know if like I hell I’m going to do this again

Err you’re still gonna go to the after-party though?

Mmm yeah that’s in doubt as well.

The body Swedish breaks all language barriers though as you can see :D

I don't believe a single word out of his mouth :D You can tell he's on edge.

The Dolly Style JABS : “In Sweden the contest has moved to being very Tik Tok friendly…songs that are easy for children to sing along to, and that was so clear tonight…Melodifestivalen is now working with TikTok and that’s the future of the competition.”

It’s interesting as it was her best entry for me and has been the biggest hit so far, right? So I do agree with her point as it never felt like it even had a tiny bit of momentum, despite it obviously outperforming what it did in the heat. I think that shows there’s some truth there, but also I just don’t think the performance was on a level with the top two.
Agree. I do think it could have had momentum. There was a lot of anticipation for her return and it is a truly excellent song (by far the best of the year) but the performance didn’t do it justice. Better vocals, much better staging and a bigger budget for the staging could have made it a contender.

Oh God, wasn’t JL born in the UK? Look out BBC.

Yeah the comments about "we'll see if the international juries made the right choice" definitely read as SNIDE to me, sorry. Whether intended it also reads(to me a bit at least) as "well the public were obviously going to pick KAJ but I was hoping the juries would put a stop to that nonsense" which comes off pretty damn insulting. Be dissapointed, upset, but the comments are unesscessary.

The juries hold a lot of power as it is, and as much as I wouldn't be without them and as much as they help to propell songs with artistic merit that don't connect with the public or perhaps come across as too "clinical" to connect with people, they have also hampered plenty of acts that public clearly loved, and to be honested have dictated winners(there isn't a perfect system I know but that's a different debate)

And this coming from a country which although usually somewhat popular with the public, undoubtbly even popular with the juries just comes off a bit icky.

Is he determined to get an even lower televote score at Eurovision? :eyes:

The lead singer of KAJ reminds me of an ex which is probably why I’m obsessed ngl…

So we are to believe that Saga Ludvigsson won her heat and then 1 (one) week later came dead last with the public?
The only LOGICAL explanation is that Victoria Silvstedt was the obvious runaway winner in heat 5, but she had only agreed to perform ONCE and hurry back to Saint Tropez, hence SVT having to viciously rig it and pretend she came last :(

John Lundvik's song sounded dated and Mans's entry was clearly style over substance. That's the reason they couldn't defeat Kaj. Any of the last 10 years Swedish winners would have wiped the floor with an entry like Bara bada bastu.

Obviously we can never know how much the Måns element was driving the support, but I'm pretty sure Bara bada bastu would have beaten Marcus & Martinus, Tusse, Robin Bengtsson and Benji Ingrosso, and probably The Mamas too. It's being pretty heavily rumoured it got the highest televote ever, and it was getting higher daily streams than Tattoo did in its first week out.

Is that true about it being the highest televote ever? If so I am really miffed by the Swedish voting public sometimes. I can never fully trust a nation that rejects gems such as 'Burning Alive' or 'I see you' whilst consistently voting for childish novelty songs that all sound like they've got the same familiar format and tune.

And even then they couldn’t bother their arse voting for Gunilla’s childish novelty song
