So here we are. The last semi. It hardly feels like five seconds since I was introducing our first semi-final. Back then, a pint of beer cost 40p and we were planning that Moopy Meet in Constantinople.

This semi is a PROPER mixed bag. Some obvious contenders, but some low key highlights as well.

Hmm yes definitely fewer faves at a glance. Though obviously Robin S is an INSTANT 5.
 
This is going to be a tough round for my 5 point scores. There are six of my nominations, plus a couple of songs which are even better than them.
 
Hmm...I’m not sure I’ll get into double figures based on my submissions in this round. I’m not sure they’re instantly recognisable enough.
 
I thought people might like to know how well their acts were doing. Don't worry, there's no competition. Do you think I'd be languishing in THIRD if there were a competitive element? I'd be cheating the fucking house down.

In fairness, a lot of my big takeaways from this rate have been ones that DIDN'T qualify. Gravitonas, Abfahrt, Aphex Twin, Medina...
 
I don't take it as a competition. And I didn't nominate some favourites that I knew that would be in anyone else's list, so it's totally fine!

Yeah, there were several I would have nominated but others got there first. Which was GOOD cos it gave me more slots for other things!
