Old songs on the UK charts

Imogen Heap was also hanging around the arse end of the chart before the Christmas songs hit.

A 2005 release that reached No.74 in 2006, Headlock returned to its peak a couple of months ago, after an absence of more than 18 years for singer/songwriter Imogen Heap. Its use in new video game Mouthwashing triggered TikTok activity for the song, which is now back again, and improving on its peak, resuming at No.57 (6,977 sales), while raising its all-time consumption to 95,688 units.

Yeah it seems to be gaining big traction on streaming now.

Steps next, please.

32 RE Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith - La La La (44wks) (2013)
44 57 Imogen Heap - Headlock (6wks) (2006)
54 47 Disturbed - The Sound of Silence (48wks) (2016)
60 43 Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna - This Is What You Came For (45wks) (2016)
61 48 The Killers - Mr Brightside (438wks) (2004)
77 78 Coldplay - Viva La Vida (129wks) (2008)
78 84 Coldplay - Yellow (44wks) (1999)
83 82 Fleetwood Mac - Dreams (102wks) (1977)
95 83 Journey - Don't Stop Believin (109wks) (1981)
96 76 Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (148wks) (1998)
100 81 Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere (96wks) (1987)

 OUT

42 01 Wham! - Last Christmas (131wks) (1984)
62 02 Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You (140wks) (1994)
85 04 Brenda Lee - Rockin Around The Christmas Tree (81wks) (1958)
86 RE Vance Joy - Riptide (158wks) (2013)
98 RE Sophie Ellis Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor (38wks) (2001)
99 RE Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody (25wks) (1987)
100 RE Kings of Leon - Sex On Fire (129wks) (2008)

Christmas completely decimated, and we're almost back to the usual suspects. Although the list is led by La La La at #32, which like Headlock last week I have no idea why it's recharting. Headlock itself is climbing, heading towards the top 40, which might be her first.

Little else to report.

I lasted a minute. Are they all supposed to be shit at dancing and lip syncing?
Exactly my issue with it. Where's the EFFORT?

I suppose it's all going into their postgrad degrees in medicine :eyes:

99 100 Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere (97wks) (1987)
100 RE Hozier - Take Me To Church (114wks) (2014)

Little to report, although Imogen Heap gets her first ever top 40 hit.

The original of Dirty Cash was charting outside the top 40, but a new remix replaced, which this week climbs to #22. But it won't qualify for this list until 2032, when I'll be dead.

Sorry I've not updated in weeks. It's been really really boring. Imogen Heap bobbing around the bottom of the top 40 is about as interesting as it gets.

It remains very boring, it's the same old shit.

HOWEVER, midweek charts, Oasis 'Whatever' is no.1.

They're only 500 ahead before streaming gets included properly anyway- it might not even make the top ten, but it gives the Chart Company a headline, I suppose.

OK, reviving this for this week

31 RE Adele - Hometown Glory (30wks) (2008)
39 32 Imogen Heap - Headlock (16wks) (2006)
51 48 Disturbed - The Sound of Silence (58wks) (2016)
62 19 Kendrick Lamar & SZA - All The Stars (28wks) (2018)
72 70 Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (158wks) (1998)
75 71 The Killers - Mr Brightside (449wks) (2004)
80 81 Fleetwood Mac - Dreams (112wks) (1977)
88 89 Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere (104wks) (1987)
90 90 Journey - Don't Stop Believin (118wks) (1981)
91 94 Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten (61wks) (2004)
98 92 Coldplay - Viva La Vida (139wks) (2008)

Notable re-entry for Adele. Imogen Heap still hovering at the bottom end of the top 40, while All The Stars had a big re-entry last week at 19.
