It says a lot for how useless Aiden was that I was willing Brita to stay just to get rid of her. If I can't totally hate on someone as unlikeable as Brita, something is very very wrong.

In better hands, I do think Patricia Quinn could totally have been a Little Edie type success that nobody really saw coming.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up on All Stars in a couple of years. I do still believe a lot of his shortcomings were down to lack of knowledge (no excuse obviously) and a total lack of confidence. Plus that whole small town queen without access to certain circuits and drag opportunities which was unfairly trampled over. Again, not an excuse but I suspect they feel he might have another shot, especially with his closing comments to the judges about not being himself.

Besides, it's not like All Stars has been completely about rounding up the FINEST QUALITY elimininees in recent years..
 
I'm not sure how much I buy the 'small town' bullshit anyway - she's from a suburb of Atlanta, not the middle of fucking Wyoming.
 
If she had had a better attitude about it, and if her underdog narrative hadn't sucked up so much airtime I might have been inclined to like her a bit more. But just salty and defensive with no sense of fun or willingness to learn.

Stacey Laine Matthews is a great example of a small town queen who was 100% out of her depth for much of her run, but at least she was fun and likeable with it so it was hard to resent her too much for sticking around.
 
I don't disagree, even though I willed her to be decent, but still...I do think they will drag her back. Although god knows these days. It's increasingly more about who will agree to it more than anything.

But not like she has anything to lose after this :basil:
 
If it happens, hopefull it will be a season populated by the likes of Venus D-Lite, Penny Tration and Kalorie Karbdashian-Williams, so we can all safely not bother.

I can't stand Brita now. I don't like the way she was always shading Aiden like she's that much better.

And the way she was talking about the NYC drag scene, saying "I'm basically their Queen" :zombie:
 
Brita has been hard going on Aiden but TO BE FAIR I do see where Alaska and Willam are coming from when they said the show has been pushing her and pushing her in the hope of a breakdown. Especially last week with the horrid edit of the spitting with the slo mo zoom in and the monster music, to the guest judge calling someone else a polynesian goddess or whatever it was before the camera switched right to her scowling.

We've had worse.
 
And it's quite nice that this season's queens are a lot less worried about how they're being perceived. It feels like a classic season, kind of.
 
Well I didn't mind Aiden and think she'll be rather amusing when re-watching it further down the line. I think she'll be the one who will gain the most out of post-show gigs, not least because they will be her first ones of course. A place on All Stars would need to be in at least 4 or 5 years time - in terms of coming out of her shell, she's very much a turtle head :D

Brita is a big phoney, but the hatchet job the show does now is so bad she could probably use it to her advantage - she could easily make jokes to the front row at her shows about being spat on, etc. If only Aiden had a bubble blower or remote control car to compete with Brita's pyrotechnics, then we may have got the Phi Phi meltdown after all.
 
I thought Jackie's Snatch Game game was weak until "don't you talk about my husband" finally got somewhere noteworthy, and it was very funny. I'm familiar enough with this big lipped hedgehog lady and didn't think much of an impersonation was going on, not that Jackie should be put under so much scrutiny (for it to matter) when we have Ike and Brita barely conjuring one quip between them. Jaida also got a lucky escape - at times she's like an echo of Trinity the Tuck with the talking head "sass".
 
I am sadly a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills veteran and can confirm that his Lisa Rinna was QUITE GOOD.

absolutely! You’d think there were was a big enough character there without leaning so heavily on that. It could’ve just been used once for that illegible handwriting joke (once!) but the long stuttering was icky.

maybe that’s why production left it in :D

Yeah! like if it was all actually funny then FAIR GAME SHUT UP SOURPUSS, but it wasn’t aside from Gigi, and Sherry’s character was in super poor taste and deserves to be called out - the show should not have praised her for that performance full stop.
 
It’s so funny that people are (rightly) criticising the show for praising Sherry too much for this, considering production would like to Thanos-style erase her from existence :D
 
One of the guest judges was on Race Chaser this week, and clearly favoured Jackie Cox, claiming a lot of great stuff was left out. That did make me wonder why, particularly considering they had the perfect opportunity to edit Sherry out to accommodate the Jackie which ended up on the cutting room floor.

So like Diddy says, they ended up praising the very person they have been trying to erase, the one week they had a great reason to stick the knife in.
 
Sorry but as a noted REAL HOUSEWIFE stan, I wasn’t really getting Lisa Rinna aside from the look and wine glass - I feel Jackie Cox would have been much more comfortable doing an NYC Jewish mom.

JILL ZARIN would have been perfect, and formed the basis of about 60% of her impersonation ANYWAY

Well obviously at that point she was a favoured contestant so they probably literally have zero negative comments about her doing snatch game to use and stick the knife in with to edit in. It's like when the Irish one (I'm shit with names) did Mary Berry on Snatch Game in the UK one - she was shit, but they'd obviously decided that they wanted her to be a 'good one' that week, so they didn't do any negative comments.
 
I quite liked Mary Berry.

Anyway, when did Snatch Game become so politically correct? It’s been littered with people doing things that weren’t exactly nice! If you thought Katharine was bad, how did Anna Nicole Smith ever get through? I guess Sherry is just an easy punching bag right now.

Personally I think there's a huge difference between a legendary actress who had an illness and someone who was off her head on drugs and alcohol. That's why I think someone like Amy Winehouse would be fair game.

Also note how tasteful (and funny) Baga Chip's Margaret Thatcher was - she didn't resort to cheap jokes about Alzheimer's because she didn't need to - and was much funnier for it.

I know the reason why. It's just FUNNY when you look at how the shit has gone down since.
 
As for Patricia Quinn, I think her anger is justified. She's not a star like most Snatch Game characters, she's a working actress who most people only know from a role she played 40 years ago, and the portrayal heavily implied that she was a drug-addled burnout who couldn't remember her lines. Of course she's going to want to fight back against that.

Not that I think Aiden was being vindictive per se, the whole thing was just horribly ill-judged.
