Hmmm that was some very suspicious judging

I mean Keri lost that lipsync , not because Alyssa was amazing but Keri did fuck all. At least Alyssa tried to perform. Shameful.

I can see why they wanted to keep Keri, who’s a lot more interesting as a character and queen but they couldn’t even edit her to be remotely good in that performance.

The teasers were ok, nothing too cringy. I appreciated that they told Kornbread to stop with the fat and eating jokes (I wish they would tell her that she needs bigger hair, it’s 3 times now that she’s come out with flat wigs).

Willow and Angeria were the clear standouts.

I think this is probably one of the most likeable bunch of queens they’ve had in a while.
 
Such a random bottom 2, when Orion Story and Jorgeous basically did NOTHING.

Jasmine definitely has an annoying habit, but Kornbread trying to be the 'wise teacher' is incredibly cringey.

What IS IT about Bosco that's so oddly endearing? :D

I really like this cast, but the judging was so odd. Cornbread and Alyssa being called one note and placed in the bottom three when each queen had about 15-20 seconds MAX to 'act' in an overacting challenge? It's hardly an environment conducive to bringing levelled acting.

Everyone was at least decent this week but surely it would have made more sense to place the ones who didn't really do anything in the bottom, like Georgeous?

I get that Alyssa hasn't exactly stolen the show but she felt like a seasoned performer who could have at least delivered some good lip syncs. It's a shame that the gun machine didn't work but there's no way they were ever eliminating Keri this early on, so it just felt like they'd set her up as a fodder from the get go.
 
I didn’t enjoy this episode at all. Shit challenge, and shameless judging.

I want Kerry to stay but she lost that lip sync (and they obviously didn’t want to waste that gold bar on her).
 
I thought it was a decent, if not a particularly outstanding episode.

I like Kerry and it was definitely too soon for her to go, but I was a little pleased she didn't coast by just on the strength of her dress - it doesn't really sit right for me that she basically just borrowed J.Lo's actual dress. Clearly she's well connected, but where's the creativity in that?

Although these days the queens almost all just buy off the rack from a small pool of designers anyway so it probably isn't much different.
 
I also got a big laugh out of actual J.Lo's appearence with the contractually obligated 'MARRY ME - IN THEATRES FEBRUARY 11th' text stamped underneath her. :disco:
 
It was a fun episode, it's a fun cast. Willow, Angeria and Deja all gave a good performance.

I bet Ru had an absolute wide on when Kornbread broke. Ru acting the therapist using the same template on every queen is not just terrible but utterly irresponsible.

Maddy, being a straight queen is just so weird. He's not even one of those campy straight men. His catwalks look like when they get straight men on the makeover challenge.
 
Yeah Ru and Michelle trying to psychoanalyze the contestants and talking about "breakthroughs", like they're bestowing society with the wisdom of the universe, is embarrassing and self-righteous.
 
The judging was all over the place this episode but it was too soon to lose Kerri indeed.
 
Loving Willow more with every episode. I'm a fan of Bosco too. I love her aesthetic and personality. I just wish the bitch had a better name.

Disappointed at Jorgeous. The bitch better have more in store.

Kornbread is potentially more unbearable than Silky, but maybe too early to tell.
 
I think Kornbread managed to get the Jasmine Kennedie dynamic to an okay place by the end, but christ it was uncomfortable viewing during the brainstorm. Also I didn't really understand the oatmeal cookie analogy - it kind of felt at that point like she was saying "I JUST DON'T LIKE HER", when, well, JK was clearly trying hard to engage with the critique and then just being picked at by Kornbread on any little thing after that.

Feels at this point like a very clear top three of Willow, Angeria, and Kornbread. Not sure who's got the most potential to be the fourth one who joins them in the final yet.
 
I must mention the queen with the gay dad. I guess it was drag or porn.
 
Also didn't get that judging. No way Kerri was bottom two. Orion was actively rubbish and that dress was appalling too. I'd have put Alyssa in there too- it was a fairly dreadful performance. I didn't understand Kornbread being bottom either- safe, surely?
 
I guess putting Kornbread in the bottom 3 gets her more camera time and contributes to her journey. They clearly have her for the long haul.
 
Hmm ... well the challenge was quite fun really, although the final edits were confusing - that bit Maddy did and was praised for was cut, for example. I enjoyed the final products either way. The runways weren't super interesting, but I suppose J.Lo's looks aren't really especially memorable, apart from that green one.

Jasmine is annoying but the hatchet job edit has made me feel sympathetic. I mean I think it was meant to whip up a villain, from someone who got called out and decided to work on it. I mean 🤷‍♂️ It didn't look good on Kornbread still banging her alpha-queen drum, especially when they were working together. I see in Untucked that the producers haven't let go of this storyline. Kornbread is going to have to give me more than 👁️👁️

As for the lip sync, that's unfortunate. Kerry is lovely and gorgeous, but she was more interested in damaging the dress than performing. Why did they get rid of Alyssa, because her prop didn't work? that's fucked. I didn't really want either of them to go.

I've been ru-watching old seasons and felt a little shocked to remember quite HOW heavy-handed the production was (especially Ru) in creating shady moments, but I REALLY felt it in this episode.
 
Anyway, that being said

1) Angeria - Should've won last week TOO! Funny and serving every week

2) Lady Camden - Not making much of a dent here, but her runways have been good, she seems so lovely, and her fake American really tickled me.

3) Willow - I didn't get off to a good start with her (STILL don't get that entrance look), and she's getting super overrated, but I like her sense of humour even if her runways are kind of rotten.

4) Bosco - Something I'm still not sure about with her, but her mug this week was great, and I like her empathetic attitude while being a bit of a cunt

5) Jorgeous - Delightful and the runways good, I think she's getting lost in the mix a bit now. I hope she had a moment soon.

6) Daya Betty - I like her energy and she has the possibility for some actual interesting runways, which is sorely needed this season.

7) Maddy Morphosis - I've enjoyed her so far, she seems a pretty sympathetic character (and probably the cutest one left), the mug was good today. I wonder about some of her choices though, not just heterosexuality, but I'm yet to be gagged since the promo. She doesn't have to be gay to compete, but I think it helps with the faggy energy that she doesn't have.

8) Jasmine - Yes she's annoying, but she's one of the better runway queens, and she's just young. Young people ARE annoying

9) Kerry - Gorgeous but I don't feel like she's doing Drag Race

10) Deja Skye - She was funny in the challenge, but I find her style choices really odd, and her makeup...various colours of skin, nude illusions that don't match any of them, I don't really get it.

11) Orion Story - I am enjoying her post-comeback runways, she really is pretty, but she's not really giving anything. The J.Lo runway was beautiful but all I thought thing of was that Lana del Rey twirling in the toilet bowl GIF

12) Kornbread - This was not a good week, she's come across as a bit of a cunt who won't tolerate Jasmine talking (but we certainly hear a lot from HER), and even picking on her not talking? BOOT. Flat wigs, one-note runways with the eyes, I'm not enjoying it.
 
Am I the only one who thought Kerri won the lipsync? She was serving face the whole time, and while she was lower energy I feel like it suited the song better. Alyssa was buzzing all over the place and it felt TOO MUCH
 
My favourite bit of the teaser was Ru saying she would lipsync against Angeria, though they should've immediately cut to a scene of Ru writing a lipstick message on the mirror 💄

EDIT: or was it Maddy? Either way anyone on the cast would win :tongueout:

That part of the teaser made me laugh too cuz any of these queens would probably kill Rupaul in a lip synch lol
 
I wonder what @dUb thought of this episode - probably wondering how strange it was to have two queens just walking around the stage to complete silence at the end of the episode, following the runway theme "wear a nice dress".
 
I’m loving the added layer of humiliation the chocolate bar brings to proceedings!

Why even put Kerri in the bottom two when it’s obvious they’re not going to send her home? I didn’t want her to go but she did not deserve a safe for tepidly walking around the stage afraid of damaging her $30k dress!!!

Anyone else totally into Jorgeous? I’d totally think about topping for him.
 
Whenever I see his talking heads I just keep wondering why he's dressed up as a jockey 🐎
 
I think that was a problem for the whole runway though. j.Lo is gorgeous but she has never had any particular batshit looks, and beside Jorgeous doing some moves from a video, I didn’t feel there was a lot to DO

And I don’t think Kerry having the original dress was lazy, in fact that must have been pretty hard! It’s not like 90% of the other queens didn’t buy/commission replicas, so what’s the difference?
 
Oh except Deja Skye, take a drink when she wears something a bit ehhhh down the runway but we are reminded that she makes them all :basil:

It's not as good as the original from 2000, but it's still impressive she acquired it. It's certainly pushing the bar higher for what queens will do to play the game.
 
Oh this was fun again. Kerri is JUST the kind of girl I eat up on this show and that lipsync was entirely on point. Walking around, in the ACTUAL (copy of the) DRESS and serving BODY-ODY-ODY and FACE FACE FACE. Instant win. I guess they felt they had to punish her for such an outrageous choice of dress, but it was the kind of killer move this show thrives on. Outdo that one Season 15!

Alyssa was as terribly old fashioned and pageanty as she has been all season. When she got that tired money gun out (and the batteries thankfully ran out :D), the gig was up. Nothing had been interesting up to that point and she felt like a third generation photocopy of previous Ru girls, yassing and bitching in every talking head but not exuding any actual CUNT. The story of her Dad reminded me of a father/son pair who used to be in my clubbing crowd. What a throwback!

Rather enjoying the rest of the gurls, though Anjeria is so far ahead at the minute. I'm loving every second but I want to see some compeition. Lady Camden's voice and manner is irritating but poor put upon Jasmine is an all too desperate fave. Kornbread was rotten this week with that behaviour. Jorgeous seems to have run out of steam already and Daya gives off a nasty vibe.

I can't see Trade Of The Season Maddy lasting much longer and though I'm enjoying Orion's quirky take on things, I can see her running out of road relatively quickly too.
