The artists in the running to represent Spain in the next Eurovision Song Contest were announced last night:
– Almacor
– Angy Fernández
– Dellacruz
– Jorge González
– Lérica
– Mantra
– María Peláe
– Marlena
– Miss Caffeína
– Nebulossa
– Noan
– Quique Niza
– Roger Padrós
– Sofía Coll
– St. Pedro
– Yoly Saa
From what I have gathered, the probably most well-known locally there are Lérica, Marlena, Miss Caffeina and María Pelae.
Angy Fernández is quite well-known too but more as an actress than as a singer. However her song competing in the National Final however is co-written by Thomas G:son and Dino Medanhodzic (Dino who worked on Dotter's two most recent MelFest entries and Lina Hedlund's "Victorious").
Roger Padrós is a former alumni of The Voice and his song in the National Final will be performed in Catalan.
Jorge González previously competed in the 2009 and 2014 Spanish National Finals.
Mantra includes Carlos Marco who was also in the boyband Auryn alongside Blas Canto and who co-wrote and sang (off-stage) backings for Xeinn's "Eco":
Nebulossa is an 80s inspired group who are virtually unknown, if not for participating in the San Marino's "Una Voce per San Marino" and crashing out in the semi-finals.
