It's just another name in Spanish for The Spanish Armada, haha. 🇪🇸⛵️

The ancestry from Spain is probably is true for most 'black Irish' individuals (Caucasian but dark-haired instead of the red/ginger stereotype).

Regarding France, who is the great-grandmother on Enya's father's side; she was a famous pianist? :france: 🎹

Enya's vernacular speaking is almost non-existent in English.
(Mine is more so, haha.)

Regarding Enya's accent, the most Irish she ever sounded (speaking in English) was probably in this (1986 not 1980-🌳)

Edit: her name is Cití, she is reportedly 100 years old now, and alive! Her daughter is Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (who Enya played in a band with for a short time) and was indeed their neighbour when Enya and her siblings were little. 🤗

Enya hopes at least one of her songs will be in the 200 played on the moon for Artemis II in September 2025...!

She would be slightly disappointed if not - Enya mentions 'the island of the moon' in Orinoco Flow, has the album named Shepherd Moons, etc. (and who knows only time for the new Enya album? ) 🌠🌛
 
Enya likes the BBC shows in the vein of The Traitors, also Ghosts. Not forgetting good old Horrible Histories! "Cut-throat Celts" :D

Still, she thinks HH missed an opportunity to use her Boadicea and add lyrics to it for Boudicca.

Enya's not sure about the results of the Taiwan election, but whenever she sees Taipei City on TV, Enya gladly recalls some thrilling times there. :grin:

Enya had a go at a lot of maintenance things whilst renovating her castle at the turn of the century. Not the whole task in most cases, but "can I have a go?" opportunities. 🤗

Enya, for someone who tells of tears/crying a lot, is more like:
In the Oscar-winning song Let It Go from the Oscar-winning film Frozen, Elsa sings You'll never see me cry! She goes on to cry multiple times in the third act. This is because the screenwriters gave her nothing else to do in the film. : r/shittymoviedetails

She does look teary-eyed on some occasions, and in a few songs or receiving awards on stage Enya does sound like she is about to cry.

Money For Nothing is less about publicity and sob stories, and features far more creativity from the presenter herself (and Jay Blades when he does the show) :thumbsup: 🎨

Tin whistle is like the recorder 🪈 but made of tin, Irish, and reportedly easier to play. :ireland:
The accordion was her dad's main instrument

She has played cello on at least one (Grammy-nominated Best Pop Instrumental) track 🪄🎻
