The release date moved from July to November :(

Marvel announced today that The Marvels starring Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel) and Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) has been delayed by 3 and a half months to November 10th. It was previously set to release on July 28th.

After all, they did announce they were going to "space things out" so maybe this year MCU will try to keep things lowkey after Guardians.

This is a good move since otherwise we would have had 9 months between The Marvels and Captain America while only 2 months between Guardians and The Marvels.

Also is it too much to hope for cancellation of Echo and Iron Heart?:disco:

With the whole Marvel reevaluation thing going on at the moment, they're being pushed until 2024; Agatha is still set to be out in December 2023.
Apparently, Secret Invasion is coming out in May and Loki by July-August, I think having only 3 movies and 3 TV shows a year might work better IMHO.

What If? doesn't really count ANYWAY :eyes:

Aren't those already filmed while Agatha is still filming?

They wrapped up filming in 2022, maybe they've realized there's not actually a lot of demand :eyes: and you're right, Agatha hasn't wrapped u yet :( We should expect an announcement soon. *gets a 2025 release date*

Agatha will surely feed the gays and will be a hit regardless; it's got all the camp elements.

This looks cute

(I am biased because I like Kamala but it does look cute)

Even though there’s probably been about 17 Marvel series that lead into this movie and I’ll miss half the jokes.

I think they've been pretty good with assuming people haven't seen the shows when it comes to the films!

But watch Ms Marvel x

How does Wandavision link into this? :o
Monica was in the original Captain Marvel movie as a little girl, but this adult version of her is introduced in WandaVision and it sets up a few things for her character that might be relevant here :o

We haven't heard of Monica Rambeau or her whereabouts since WandaVision ended when she turned into Photon so it'll be interesting to see how they reintroduce her as a full-fledged Avenger now!

I totally forgot that was her and that she was in it!

How and why did they shit all over MCU?

At one point it was virtually untouchable.

Actually I know how - they stretched the world way too thin and made it impossible for anyone except the most obsessive fans to follow

I just don't think most of the audience have the appetite for these cinematic universes. they would rather watch a really entertaining standalone movie than endless sequels and stories that don't resolve but always tease the next.

Marvel did well for a while because the writing was top notch and they hit gold with the A-list cast circa Civil War etc. but it's diminishing returns now.

I think this looks like fun, though I'll watch Kamala in anything - Iman Vellani is the best thing about the MCU currently.

At this I'd rather a final Avengers movie, even though we'll get one until 2025. Fuck u Jonathan Majors

Blockbusters are way too long in general these days, so I think that's potentially quite a positive move!

Serves them right. They shot themselves in the foot. Time to wrap it, re-cast Kang, release a final Avengers movie, and retire the MCU for a good 30 years.

I mean, no one saw that coming

It's not looking good for The Marvels, which is predicted to open to between $50-$75 million. That's less than half of Captain Marvel's opening weekend in 2019. Presales are currently 72% worse than Marvel's last flop Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The Marvels budget is reportedly $270+ million. It will hit cinemas November 10.
