Tokyo 2020 - Closing Ceremony (Sun 16th August)

I agree with rhythmbarbican, it was entirely within my expectations.
 
I thought it was largely quite pleasant, if not the spectacle I was hoping for (well, except the French rudely stealing the show by sending a saxophonist into space). Still, it had some nice moments and, as a Gwen Stefani apologist, I quite like ska :o

Consider me WHELMED.
 
I guess the games themselves went well, but I mean the ceremonies are supposed to build the excitement and show off the host country, and I don’t think it did that.

Japan has so many iconic images, aside from the copyright ones, but where were they.

I didn’t see the mascot even ONCE!
 
Oh I see the USA pipped China on the medals table by ONE GOLD on the LAST DAY after being second almost the entire games :basil:

A few people won’t be looking forward to going back to Beijing tonight
