Oh MY

Aiden would be an entrant I could definitely get behind.

You could have at least checked his Twitter before posting that, because he hasn't tweeted that :D

Maybe, but I can't see why he'd do it. He's tried to establish himself as something VERY different to Eurovision for quite some time.

WHY would he message the BBC Eurovision Twitter saying contact management for times? Surely whoever runs the BBC Twitter page would KNOW?

Maybe, but I can't see why he'd do it. He's tried to establish himself as something VERY different to Eurovision for quite some time.

At this point he's not got anything to lose. I'm surprised it's taken so long for someone in his position to realise that actually, having the chance to promote and actually catch on in Europe is probably worth it given he's not really got much chance of getting big in the UK anymore. Plus, his sound isn't totally alien to the contest either these days.

Searching Twitter for mentions of Aiden, I think it's a hoax sadly. There's pretty much zero mention of him before the first captured image is posted a good fifteen minutes after he'd have made the tweet, and considering how many absolute loons are devoting their lives to this at the moment I doubt there'd be no tweets about him before a screencap for that long.

To be fair it's just one of MANY forms of contact these days. We call in sick to work by Twitter these days!

He's in for a long wait if he thinks he's getting a response from the BBCEurovision feed...

If Aiden was real, and I don't think for a moment he is, I don't see that his music is THAT far away from Eurovision. He's very much a 'performance artist' and his music isn't far off from 'I Feed You My Love' and 'Euphoria' in style.

@bbceurovision: OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: @scott_mills will premiere our UK act and song in a Red Button, iPlayer exclusive next Monday at 7.30pm

@bbceurovision: We’re also excited to have found our act through their association with @bbc_introducing

She denied it again about an hour ago. It sounds like it's going to be a complete unknown.

Fair play to them though! They've always been reluctant to associate Eurovision with any other music activity at the BBC (except Radio 2 of course).

A red-button / iplayer exclusive !! :D perish the thought of putting it on an actual channel! Even bloody BBC Three would do!

This is all sounding unusually promising.

This is all sounding unusually promising.

It's promising compared to the last 3 years yes... in that the entrant isn't over 80.

But it could be a heap of shit. I wish we had SOME say in it still. And that it was a bigger deal. For a show that gets 10 million viewers in May it seems so weird that they don't try to do SOMETHING to build up to it.

In fairness, that blog reads as everything we've all been saying FOREVER!! So yeah, more promising than I'd have expected...

It is a step in the right direction, absolutely. But cwej is right. We've just set our sights so low based on the last couple of years that being told it isn't a clapped out old relic that anything is an improvement. I'm certainly not ruling out the fact that it may be another Josh Dubovie.

Oh, I've not read any blog; just the headlines.

I refuse to let myself get excited though.

Oh that does sound quite promising.

*Cut to new UK artist Lauren Pope furiously penning Eurovision smash*

I don't know why they've never thought of this before, but I'm pleased they're taking a fresh approach.

The song will certainly be interesting.

Surely the artists name will leak if they're filming a video in central London today?

I'd expect so. Although not until the filiming's over and everyone gets their phones back.
