What did the poll say in the last interesting year, 2011?

I rather have the contest scaled back, so we can get rid of the Big 5 (as automatic qualifiers that is).

Over the moon to announce I've just signed an album deal with @warnermusicuk ! Can't wait to make and share some more music with you all.

It didn't occur to me that she wouldn't have a record deal yet, though it makes sense. Also explains the no-budget 'live video'

Hopefully this'll mean a bit of a push on her.

The full audio is now on her YouTube channel along with artwork and an official release date:

Despite still not being HQ, the instrumentation sounds so much clearer and punchier on that audio, it has more of an impact as the drums in the chorus kicks in.

I really hope she can crack the Top 10 on the night with this. I think it's all going to come down to the draw.

I'll also harm somebody if they don't make a moment out of the middle eight. The strings into 'We're shining like diamonds' is subtle but it really takes the song somewhere else for me. The staging needs to be perfect.

I'm sorry to say I've gone off it quite a lot since the news originally broke.

The opposite for me. I'm totally obsessed with it now, outside the realms of my normal Eurovision loondom.

It still hasn't quite clicked with me yet. I especially don't like the backing singers' "Oh" and "Eh" at the start of the first verse.

Be quick:

Take part in our Eurovision postcard!
Wednesday 9 April 2014, 18:20

We are filming our Eurovision postcard this Saturday 12th April, and you could be part of it! We are looking for fans to come to our location in West London and take part in what we promise will be quite a spectacular shoot.

If that sounds like you please email [email protected]. . You will receive a confirmation email if you are successful with all the necessary details. Numbers are limited so please be quick to avoid disappointment.

*Children must be at least 12 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. Please be aware that it is an outside shoot so wear appropriate clothing. Your involvement will confirm participation in footage that will be broadcast.

Oh god. I felt a tad embarrassed when our postcard in 2010 consisted of about twelve middle-aged gays. I doubt there'll be a better turnout for this... I hope they at least pluck a few young people or heaven forbid, GIRLS from the street and thrust a flag in their hand for a minute, just for a bit of variety and to bulk the numbers out a bit!

We're climbing up in the betting again. Up to 5th now, behind Armenia, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

That's such a beautiful song! I really really hope Europe likes it. I love it!

I hope the other remixes are a bit more interesting. Apparently Scott Mills is doing one...are his remixes any good?

I honestly think it will win - in a year of ballad heavy hell, and a few crappy uptempos, this goes Goldilocks and gets it just right, hitting the spot in the middle. It's just a great song, and I think that will see it through.

Oh...apparently that IS the Scott Mills remix. Colour me disappointed.

That Scott Mills remix (:wired:) actually makes the song sound QUITE GOOD

But surely it wasn't actually remixed by HIM?

Probably just sat there swinging his legs, sipping on a Bezique and being standardly displeasing while someone else fiddled with the KNOBS

I couldn't see DAME SCOTT wilfully POOH-POOHING the latter

Wow. For the first time there's a version of this that I like! I think it's because it hangs together better than the stop-start nature of the original.

It also gives the verse an actual tune which God knows the original DOES NOT

I heard this today... it has a very good chance of winning (in my vastly limited and quite casual opinion).

I think that remix is terrible, it just slaps a generic dancey backing track in place of the original and it just sounds really ill fitting, especially compared with the original.

I agree. If she gets a good draw I think she will clinch it. She's helped by the fact that the biggest rivals, Armenia and Norway seem to have zero stage presence.
