I think what helped is that he has good songs and was backed by the likes of Joe Rogan and Theo Von which the MAGA gang loves.

I was thinking of faggot, but straight people use it a lot too among them, obviously as a degrading word, but usually in good spirits, you wouldn't say it unless you're close, so I don't find it offensive.
