RuPaul's Drag Race (1 Viewer)

I think Tempest De Jour is in it for the long haul.

Currently enjoying THIS comprehensive account of various behind-the-scenes rumours/producer fuckery etc.

Laganja comes across pretty well in this interview

Raja has a new series on World of Wonder where he talks to a Drag Race related person while he draws a portrait of them, but you never see anything other than the picture.

I've been finding it very enjoyable and the portraits are excellent.

Yes, they're great - I'm surprised at what a good interviewer he is! The episode with Tammie Brown is my favourite.

Awww, she comes across really really well indeed! She must've gone through A LOT. Bless.

I'm positive I've seen this posted numerous times with zero evidence to back it up.

Lady Munter to fit the Penny Tration/ Madam Laqueer/ Mimi Imfurst role though.

That fan page really is awful. They just make up speculation and all the gays get fizzy kickers over it. There's absolutley no evidence for this beyond Jonathan Ross buying the rights and having a meal with Visage last summer.

He has the rights according to Michelle, she and Ru talk about it on one of their podcast episodes. She also mentions that Jonathan Ross would most likely just be a producer rather than on camera - he wants Ru, Michelle and a third (British) person to be the main panel.

I think it could happen eventually but this year seems too soon - and C5 does seem the most likely place for it now that they're owned by Viacom, since they own Logo as well. I'm expecting the most to come from it being the US series getting aired here (probably on 5* rather than C5 itself), but a UK version could certainly be good fun. I wonder if we'd get deluded continental queens as an equivelant of the deluded Puerto Rican queens?

Alos, on a recent episode of Hey Qween they were asking Jodie Harsh about it and she remained very COY and refused to give an answer, so I imagine she's at least been approached about the possibilities of starring in it.

Is there anything appealing about Jodie Harsh? Serious question

It would be FANTASTIC if 5 showed the US version, but it would unlikely be around the same time as the US show it, so it would still mean downloading it for the fans. Since Michelle (so far) seems to be well received by the general public, there's definitely a chance.

As for the UK version, I'm not sure having both Ru and Jodie on the panel is a good idea. Just as long as it's not that CUNT.

I don't see the appeal in Jodie Harsh to be honest. Her drag is very basic by most queen's standards and she doesn't really have much of a personality.

As a DJ, though, she's fantastic. She did an appearance in the dance arena at Manchester Pride last year and I happily spent forty minutes spinning around on vodka Red Bull chasers to her set.

:D

On their podcast, Michelle has suggested that a UK version should have Ru, Michelle and someone British. Jodie Harsh is absolutely second rate though, and I don't agree about another queen sharing the panel with Ru. I'd be ALL OVER the return of Lily Savage as a guest judge though.

I'm far more enthused simply by the idea of getting the original version on UK TV. It's astounding that someone continues to think there isn't an audience for it.

Paul O'Grady would be fine as a guest judge but not so sure about a permanent one, though I am struggling to think who else they could have. As long as it's not Louie Spence!

This is looking promising though! I'm sure if the UK version DOES air, then the US one will too. They'd likely not have to pay very much for it at all.

E4 showed the first two seasons in the graveyard slot and then dropped it. But in fariness it was a different show back then to what it is now

You have seen Drag Queens of London, right? And that's not taking into account the provincials!

Of course I have, I bought the DVD! :D Baga Chipz and Lady Lloyd would be amazing on this show. If only for all the wrong reasons.
I can just imagine Ru sitting there with a CONFUSED look upon her face throughout the show. He'd need to get Michelle to translate for him! Most of the provincials would make Penny Tration look like a superstar!

A firm NO to Paul O'Grady: he'd only spend the proceeds on treating dear dear DEAR permanently half-cut, deaf, bed-ridden Cilla :zombie:

Bit of a shame that the lovely DOCKYARD DORIS is no longer available

AS IN DEAD

Oh, I knew that but as you say they BURIED it. I've no doubt it would perform favourably in current circumstances given a better timeslot.

You need someone with a quick wit or at least quick delivery on a Drag Race judging panel.
