Four years on, what do you think of one of the greatest tracks conceived so far this century?

Forgive me... for borderline spamming but seriously:

A genuinely fabulous song that would have been a hit had it been by anyone else (I know we say that all the time about the ageing divas but in this case it's really true)
Video in which she looked better than she had in decades
Fabulous dance routine which I regularly recreate in the privacy of my own home
Comedy classic
Quotable in a wide variety of situations
So catchy I don't think it's left my head for more than five minutes since 2012
Instantly dated yet somehow TIMELESS production
Hilarious vocals on the studio version
The MDNA live album version which features such ridiculously horrific vocals that I'm shocked it was ever cleared for release - proof if we ever needed it that she hardly gives a fuck anymore
And to top it all off, a well deserved #1 dance hit

It is the ultimate Trolldonna moment

WHY IS THERE EVEN A POLL FOR THIS?
WHY IS THERE ANOTHER OPTION BESIDES 10?
In that case the only other option available would have to be an 11.

It's so EROTIC

An 11 and a 0 at the same time. Compelling dreadful.

It's basically the musical equivalent of one of those bizarre late-period Mae West films.

It's hard to rate; a 0 for being a Maddona single in 2012, and an 8 for being a rather fun for Europe trash "anthem".

Better than anything on Ray of Light.

Genuinely in my Madge Top 5. I think of it more as the Showgirls of pop.

This is the best post to ever grace Moopy.

both the song and the video remind me of my short stay in the us in 2001 when amber and kristine w were all the rage on gay bar videoscreens from chicago to florida.

i had a fake id and everything. so badass.

however she does look amazing in the dance routine bit at the end and when she's all carmen dell'oreficed it must be said *.*

I'm sure we've had this poll before.

It's AVERAGE AT BEST. And SO not what she should have been doing...

A frightful highlight. It's a nothing in the true scale of Madonna, but that doesn't mean I won't be grinding through my arthritis to it for years to come. As a production it's really something, but the awfulness of anywaaaay-hey with an immediately fabulous forgive me kind of sums it up.

Oh Jark. Really though? Her WORST? This is the same woman who sung American Life and 4 MINUTES.

While it's one of her better latter-career tracks, it's obviously not saying much. I wish she had gone down the lane of Get Together and Sorry.

A post about the worst Madonna song ever and nobody has mentioned Revolver yet?

Fuck, I forgot just how much WORTHLESS SHIT Hard Candy spawned. Her worst album by far I reckon.

Obviously being a homo of a certain age I'm more inclined to believe it, but I'd say a solid 90% of her worst output has come from the last three studio albums, and the crap she's put out in between them.

I wish the production of this would make it sound a bit more CHUNKIER or perhaps my version is crap quality? A heavier bassline would kill me while being on the treadmill getting fit to this shot shit.

As a homo of a slightly less certain age, I'd say 90% is a generous estimate.

Hard Candy is almost filler free. It's a great album. A little basic, but the tunes, the vocals and the production are all there, which is far more than can be said for MDNA. And my GOD, the S&S tour was amazing. AND it gave us the FILTH of Give It 2 Me.

GIVE ME A BASSLINE.

"I'm like hey hey hey (etc.)" is a PARTICULAR LOW, not least because I will scissor up the next witless tit to overuse LIKE in my presence

TEN ANYWAY for those 808 DRUMS :disco:

It does amuse me that nigh on all 2010s Madonna songs sound like she's singing into a desk fan. With a tracheostomy.

Ahm a bahhd gahl anywayyyy! :horny: :gross:

The room is SPINNING
It must BE THE TANQUERAY

Is truly the moment she jumped the shark for me...

I unashamedly love Hard Candy

I never listen to MDNA I dunno if it's a combination of the disappointment of that tour or whatever but I'm over that

Loved the last album tho.

I know it's the unpopular opinion but Hard Candy is miles better than MDNA, the thing with the former is that its singles run was awful yes but there were some very good album tracks. As with the latter, well let's just say there was nothing to salvage it. As much as Moopy loves GGW it was never going to strike a pose with the general public! Plus Turn Up The Radio :zombie: and the album tracks, jesus christ. BDAY SONG and SUPER STAR Anyone?

That said, Love Spent is one for the ages and one of my fave songs from her EVER.
