AS5 E06: The Charles Family Backyard Ball

Eh, what’s the point of saving Blair for a stand up challenge. I found Alexis’ character to be lazy and that pool was ugly but she’s still more impactful than Blair.

I’m just glad Juju is safe.

Finally a great challenge, even though I wished they could have three looks for the ball.

I feel sorry for Alexis, but I also didn’t want Blair to leave.

A great episode, from the workroom stuff to the runway to the lip sync to Jujubee in general.

- Roxxxy is such a presence, and really seemed like an All Star next to Cracker.
- I was gutted Alexis went instead of Blair, because as a top four Shea-Juju-Cracker-Alexis seems perfect. I can't really remember a stand out moment from Blair this season (or in S9, to be honest).
- I'm not as annoyed now that next week doesn't look to be the finale after all.
- I wasn't here for the guest judge.
- Shea's runway was great and she probably should have won based on the second look, but Cracker and Juju had the best characters.

I didn’t like Shea’s outfit at all, the veil covered most of it.

Loved having Roxxxy back, that was unexpected, and she really looked like a star (even though, she too seems to have done something to her face again which looked a bit off).

Disappointing to lose Alexis, but I called it last week. The queens just like Blair more...

It was odd to hear that on 'report card' () Alexis and Blair were even. Alexis definitely feels like she came close to winning a couple of challenges, whereas Blair has been middle of the pack throughout. Nobody really acknowledged that though.

Aside from chuckling at 'RIP Grandrea', I thought Shea looked a hot mess TBH. Also their critiques of Blair did feel ridiculously arbitrary. I thought both her looks were actually great. Clearly the producers would've preferred her to go.

Oh and I also loved Ru being frank about that it took a whole group of people to get him that look while the queens did all that themselves.

And Shea’s story about her father was really heartbreaking. :(

Good episode for the most part! I was secretly hoping for a twist where Roxxxy won the lipsync then got to REPLACE Mrs Crook in the competition.

I was genuinely a bit shocked to see Alexis go, she didn’t deserve to be out yet. Blair isn’t bad, she’s just a bit forgettable which in a lot of ways is even worse.

I didn’t rate Shea at all this week, the Grandrea choice was bizarre.

Juju once again reigned as queen supreme. Good episode overall.

I’m not sad to see Alexis go, it’s her third time and it’s the same old shit, and I couldn’t bare to watch her do the ‘so bad it’s funny’ shtick in the stand up challenge again.

I suppose Shea was referencing one of her winning moments, after her losing one last week.

But yeah, it may have been nice for her, but I doubt many viewers gave a shit.

This week I was most pleased to see Roxxxy got her body back. This shouldn't be the highlight of an All Stars episode. She looked more like a flashback of her grandmother than Roxxxy though.

I also think she was giving Cracker free reign, yet the 2 tricks she did have completely outshone the Shetland pony. The song got the lip sync it deserved though.

Alexis had a good idea with the cleaner, but she should have been coming out with lines to embarrass Ru. It seemed like it should have been an easy week for her.

That was a FABULOUS episode.

The challenge was such a brilliant idea. I loved that they had an audience.

Cracker was genuinely VERY good. Especially the 'cousin'.

I was really torn between Alexis and Blair. Love them both to death.

Roxxxy stoke the show for me. She barely even did anything yet she was the only thing I was watching during that lipsync :disco: I can’t even remember Cracker being there.

Nice to see they finally started leaning on Jujubee a bit more. Her relationship with Ru seems a lot closer than she is normally with the queens.

Yeah, whatever we thought of the contestants, MISS Andrews showed why she was an All Star with that performance right there.

I’m sorry Alexis has gone, though. Definitely wanted her to stay over Blair and confused at the reasonings why unless it was the India reasoning that caused it.

I guess we’re not getting a comeback twist at this late stage too, unfortunately. BOO!

Alexis deserved to be in the top 4 definitely. I think she did pretty well this week considering everyone turned against her.

I thought Mizz Cracker was again entirely average and didn't deserve the win. I much preferred Juju's looks and character even if her sewing was a bit basic.

I thought Shea was quite weak. Actually the only one I really liked was Juju.

I actually thought Alexis won the runway.

The picnic was a toss up between Cracker and Juju, but no one was terrible.

I'm agog they showed that nitpick about Juju's seam yet didn't have a PEEP about Cracker's dreadful outfit, which was essentially a red version of Venus D'Lite's Christmas runway. I honestly think that if someone like Mayhem or India had worn that exact look they would've been absolutely savaged by the judges! We'd have got "it's a bit crafty", "you can do better", "this is ALL STARS" - all the old favourites.

Right, I’m no major fan of Cracker, but I’m calling this now. She was absolutely one of the best today- why are we still slagging her off? Just give it up already!

Absolutely I want Juju to win and thought she was better, but Shea didn’t get read enough for that TERRIBLE runway, Blair didn’t follow the brief AT ALL and yet here we are again, slagging off Cracker.

I'm not disputing that Cracker was one of the top queens this week - you're right that Blair and Shea largely missed the mark, and her first character/look WAS good but I stand by my opinion of the second look - I genuinely thought it looked terrible, and we have seen queens be torn apart by the judges for far less (particularly on All Stars).

I know there's always stuff like this going on with favoured queens being pushed through the competition, and I accept that's just part and parcel of this sort of show, it's just that sometimes it feels SO blatant that it gets right on my wick! That's all.

Maybe she shouldn't be such a cunt all the time?

Anyways... I was really worried for Jujubee (and for once the editing wasn't obvious early on and I thought she might be at risk) so I'm really pleased she made it through.

Shea really hasn't been as consistent as I expected her to be. Man I want a Jujubee more than anything, but it's not going to happen is it... :(

She should be great next week though - hoping she can go into the final with a second win under her belt.

Woof, that was an episode!

Cracker's win was a surprise - I mean I want Juju to win every week but it was nice to have someone other than the ordained Shea to keep it interesting. On reflection I think I liked Cracker's runway best but I don't think anyone did 2 home runs (her mid-section flat chest was a bit weird and plasticky)

Shea didn't really bring it, I think the veil was a weird choice to cover up that raggedy outfit, I didn't really get how that fitted the brief.
Jujubee- forget what I said, I think her runways were the best - It would've been great if that yellow dress had been green though, to fit the watermelon theme. OK sure the seams but the shape was so nice, and her cousin speech was by far the best.
Blair - I was surprised at how harsh they were on her, she wasn't bad at all, I could see why she was frustrated, the eleganza was more adventurous than the others for sure.
Alexis, that green dress was basic booger boots, but the swimming pool thing looked so good! TBH I didn't really need her to lift it up, that could've been done for critiques but it was a weird thing to do in the presentation. I think I liked her 2nd look the best out of all the other 2nd looks.

Did anyone win that lip-stink? YAWN! Great to see Roxxxy, since everyone had been saying it was only Werq the World girls - but the lip sync isn't only reveals. I think Cracker threw it (not that I'm totally sure she could've won it).

Alexis going home was a real shame, and I'm still on her side about the India thing. Top 4 would've been right I think. I felt like Blair stayed just because Alexis went, not because anyone was going out of their way to keep her.

So...
1) Jujubee - Consistently funny and lovable, the runways haven't been gags but she's always looked at the very least decent. So sad that there's little chance of a double win again, THIS time would've made some actual sense.

2) Shea - She's smart, she's capable of some real highs, but she hasn't delivered them every time. If she wasn't such a fan favourite and a likable person I think she'd have come across as a bit entitled in her talking heads. A worthy winner for sure, but I feel like no other result was really put on the table by the show.

3) Cracker - Well I like her, I'm not going to fight about it. She's pulled some great perfs out of the bag and the Ongina stuff feels a bit small potatoes after India/Alexis. I can't/couldn't see her as a winner but she's got her Rudemption from the people it was possible to get one out of (including herself)

4) Blair - Sort of annoyed she's here now over Alexis. I feel like I haven't seen a genuine moment from her in the main show. She says the things she's supposed to say and does that squinty frown when she REALLY MEANS SOMETHING, she clucks in her talking heads to be a bit fierce but she's just a nice kid trying to play reality TV. It's a shame, I think she's a good queen, but she hasn't really been herself. Untucked this week was the first time I felt like this ACTUALLY means a lot to her. She spends a lot of time asserting that it means a lot, but why? Who are you? It's weird, usually queens get called out all the time that we aren't seeing the vulnerability.

Comedy challenge next week? Well, I guess that MUST be Blair out? Certainly a fakeout with Shea's panic (and bizarre burping). Juju will hopefully win, leaving them to choose between Blair (who wasn't that funny) and Cracker (who ruined it with her thinking). If that all happens then interestingly the top 3 would all have 2 wins. Music challenge for top 3 which Shea will kill, presumably.

Also India is a lying sack of shit

btw weird thing about it, on the show, I was sure she said Alexis had asked “Did you do it?”, which implies that this happened after the voting as that tweet interview says.

I thought it was weird at the time that they all reacted (and India didn’t correct) like this was campaigning before the voting.

to me it sounds like there was no campaigning to get people vote for Shea, but Alexis and Mayhem really DID ask India afterwards if she had voted for her. Since they didn’t get the answer they hoped for, they didn’t ask anyone else.

I mean Mayhem made a talking head comment about misreading the group and it backfiring, right?

but somehow the argument turned into whether or not Alexis & Mayhem we’re actively trying to swing the vote, which I don’t think happened.

it’s just weird if that’s the case, India didn’t make it clear what actually happened, and then leaned into the Alexis lying story, I guess because that was her only shot at not being sent home (which is understandable but shitty)
